The Russian military’s advance in Ukraine has been slowed for various reasons, the UK Ministry of Defense said. “The speed of the Russian advance has temporarily slowed likely as a result of acute logistical difficulties and strong Ukrainian resistance,” read the latest British defense intelligence update. The Russian forces bypassed major Ukrainian population centers while leaving soldiers to encircle and isolate them. However, the capture of Kyiv is still the primary goal of the Russian invasion. A previous intelligence update by the British Defense Ministry said Russian forces have reached an area 30 kilometers (18 miles) from the center of Kyiv. A photo posted on social media appeared to show a Russian BREM-K armored recovery vehicle abandoned on the road due to lack of fuel.
