After dropping the first two games of the ALCS in Houston, the New York Yankees have their backs against the wall. The series is far from over, but oddsmakers are giving the Pinstripes roughly a 15.4% chance of coming back and advancing to the World Series, according to their +550 odds. The Astros, meanwhile, are -800 to punch their ticket to another Fall Classic.
That said, it’s the Yankees who are the -145 favorites to win Game 3 of the ALCS on Saturday evening as it heads back to the Bronx. The game begins at 5:07 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on TBS.
The story of the ALCS so far is that the Yankees’ offense has sputtered. The Bombers have scored just four runs, and had it not been for an error by Framber Valdez in Game 2, we could be sitting here talking about a shutout by Houston on Thursday night.
But it’s not like the Astros have been lighting it up, either. Houston has scored seven runs in the ALCS – 3.5 per game – which should be more than manageable for the Yankees to overcome.
