Ted Cruz dodges saying who liked pornographic video on Twitter

At least Sen. Ted Cruz didn’ t say he was hacked.
At least Sen. Ted Cruz didn’ t say he was hacked.
The Texas Republican said Tuesday “someone” with access to his Twitter account liked a pornographic tweet, but wouldn’ t say who found the lewd video so interesting.
“There are a number of people on the team that have access to the account and it appears that someone inadvertently hit the like button, ” he told reporters.
Cruz has been wrapped up in a whirlwind since the two-minute porno clip by @SexuallPosts showed up in the “Likes” section of his Twitter account early Tuesday.
“It was a staffing issue, and it was inadvertent, it was a mistake, it was not a deliberate action, ” the father of two said when asked if he was the one who liked it.
“We’ re dealing with it internally, but it was a mistake, it was not malicious conduct, ” the firebrand conservative continued.
His spokeswoman, Catherine Frazier, previously said the incident was being handled.
“The offensive tweet posted on @tedcruz account earlier has been removed by staff and reported to Twitter, ” she tweeted early Tuesday.
Even though the situation was fixed, it might not have been soon enough.
@SexuallPosts, which has 608,000 followers, tried to capitalize on the supposed snafu.
“Follow for the Same Porn @TedCruz Watches, ” the account’s profile read Tuesday morning.

North Korean Nuclear Problem Could Still Get

0

Proliferation to Iran and other rogue states
North Korea doesn’ t just make weapons for itself. It also sells them.
“The North Koreans have a long history of being proliferators and sharing their knowledge, their technology, their capacities around the world, ” CIA Director Mike Pompeo said Monday, according to Business Insider.
North Korea started selling Scud missiles to Iran in the 1980s, and a decade later, it started selling improved Scud missiles to both Syria and Iran. After the turn of the century, Iran admitted to purchasing North Korean missiles but announced that it no longer needed assistance. While there is little evidence of cooperation on nuclear weapons development between Iran and North Korea, the same can’ t be said for Syria, according to a Congressional Research Service report.
But, North Korea has developed new weapons, including an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of striking the U. S. mainland and a possible thermonuclear warhead with the ability to level a major urban center.
“As North Korea continues to improve its ability to do longer-range missiles and to put nuclear weapons on those missiles, it is very unlikely, if they get that capability, that they wouldn’ t share it with lots of folks, and Iran would certainly be someone who would be willing to pay them for it, ” Pompeo explained on Fox News.
The CIA chief expressed concerns about the intelligence gap on North Korea, arguing, “There’s still a lot that the intelligence community needs to learn.”
“I worry about the threat from North Korea in the sense that we have a place that is now on the cusp of having the capacity we’ d hope they’ d never have, ” Pompeo continued, “with a leader who makes decisions, at the very least, in a very, very tight circle, in which we have limited access.”
Nonetheless, the odds that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un is going to fire off a nuclear weapon at random are low, as doing so would be suicidal, impacting the regime’s survival goals.
“The U. S. conventional and nuclear forces, as well as South Korea and Japan’s forces, greatly outstrip North Korea in terms of technology, ” Melissa Hanham, a senior research associate at the East Asia Nonproliferation Program in the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, previously told The Daily Caller News Foundation, “I think they would only use this particular weapon in a Hail Mary, the state is collapsing, the regime is gone kind of situation.”
But, there is no guarantee that just because Kim doesn’ t have an itchy trigger finger his buyers won’ t.
“If for the sake of argument Iran does not have the capability to produce its own nuclear warhead to fit in one of its missiles, it could buy it off the shelf from North Korea, and it will fit perfectly because basically those are the same missiles, ” Tal Inbar, Head of the Space Research Center at the Fisher Institute for Air & Space Strategic Studies, said in a recent interview with i24 News.

Facebook removes Instant Articles from Messenger

Facebook’s self-hosted Instant Articles have been dropped from Facebook Messenger. The faster-loading, mobile-optimized versions of articles will still be available in the main Facebook app, just not in the company’s messaging tool.
Facebook’s self-hosted Instant Articles have been dropped from Facebook Messenger. The faster-loading, mobile-optimized versions of articles will still be available in the main Facebook app, just not in the company’s messaging tool.
While Facebook launched Instant Articles promising much, publishers have failed to see the income they would have hoped for from articles presented in this way. This has been blamed on it being much harder to track Instant Article Content.

Speaking to TechCrunch, a Facebook spokesperson said: „As we continue to refine and improve Instant Articles — and in order to have the greatest impact on people and publishers — we’re focusing our investment in Instant Articles in the Facebook core app and are no longer offering Instant Articles in Messenger.“
They went on to add:
Facebook is currently in the process of testing a new Instant Video feature, and is on the verge of launching subscription services in a bid to help publishers monetize their content.

Star Wars: J. Abrams Will Write, Direct 'Episode IX'

0

Disney and Lucasfilm announced that J. Abrams will return to write and direct the third installment of the current ‚Star Wars‘ trilogy.
The fate of the Star Wars universe is back in familiar hands.
J. Abrams will write and direct the third (and final) installment of the current Star Wars trilogy, the as-yet untitled Episode IX, Walt Disney-owned Lucasfilm announced on Tuesday. The movie is scheduled for release in 2019. Abrams, the director and producer who created the TV show Lost and helmed the reboot of the Star Trek movie franchise, also wrote and directed Disney’s first stab at a Star Wars film with 2015’s The Force Awakens, which went on to smash box-office records.
„With The Force Awakens, J. delivered everything we could have possibly hoped for, and I am so excited that he is coming back to close out this trilogy, “ Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement.
Get Data Sheet, Fortune’s technology newsletter.
Helmed by Abrams, The Force Awakens won critical acclaim upon its release nearly two years ago, and the film went on to gross more than $2 billion at the global box office while becoming the highest-grossing domestic release of all-time in North America. Abrams will co-write the new Star Wars movie with Chris Terrio, who wrote the Oscar-winning screenplay for 2012’s Argo and has writing credits on Warner Bros.’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as well as that studio’s upcoming Justice League film.
While Abrams had not been expected to direct another Star Wars film in the current trilogy, the move to bring him back for the final installment follows Disney’s surprise announcement last week that the 2019 movie’s previously-named director, Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) , would no longer be involved in the production. (Not many details have surfaced regarding Trevorrow’s apparent firing from the project, though Lucasfilm has said the director’s and the studio’s „visions for the project differ.“) Rian Johnson (Looper) wrote and directed the second film in the current trilogy, The Last Jedi, which is set for release on Dec. 15.
Earlier this year, Lucasfilm also removed the directors of next year’s planned Han Solo anthology spin-off film, also reportedly due to differences over the direction of the movie, with director Ron Howard taking over the project.

Infiniti Cars At Florida State For Irma

0

Napleton Infiniti in Tallahassee tried to park entire inventory in Florida State University garages during Hurricane Irma after school offered spaces to public
A luxury car dealership in Tallahassee, Florida decided it would be a good idea to park its entire inventory in garages owned by Florida State University during Hurricane Irma after school officials offered up available spaces to all students and the general public for the duration of the storm.
The fracas began on Friday when the management at Napleton Infiniti drove all their cars to the safe and dry environs of Florida State’s taxpayer-funded parking garages, reports Florida State University News .
Florida State students and Tallahassee residents did not take kindly to the dealership’s decision.
Many people expressed their outrage by leaving negative reviews on websites like Yelp and on Napleton Infiniti’s various social media accounts.
The critical reviews became so numerous that the dealership was forced to take down some ratings features.
Florida State University officials eventually contacted Napleton Infiniti and arranged for the removal of the dealership’s armada of fancy vehicles.
Napleton Infiniti managers have insisted that they had received permission to park all the cars inside the Florida State garages.
Hurricane Irma left 4 million Florida residents without power as it made landfall and moved across the state.

Man Walks The Stage At NYFW

Fashion designer Christian Siriano has declared dresses are no longer just for thin, 6’3″ white women – they’re for curvy girls too.
Fashion designer Christian Siriano has declared dresses are no longer just for thin, 6’ 3” white women – they’ re for curvy girls too.
The designer made waves last year when he proved Leslie Jones was “pretty” by dressing her at the “Ghost Busters” premiere. The actress complained on Twitter that no designers wanted to dress her when he came to the rescue.
I didn’ t think you needed to wear designer clothes to be pretty but that’s for another time.
So here comes Spring 2018 New York Fashion Week. Every designer and celebrity is in Manhattan, eager to gossip about the new looks. Siriano has been fanning rumors that his line will feature curvy girls of all races and sizes. Leslie Jones is seated front row.
And the show begins.
What, what? Did everybody see that? Was that a dude on the catwalk?
Yes. I can confirm that the hairy person in the black dress was a man “named Joel who may have identified as male. Or female. Or neither.”
Whoa whoa whoa. Not so fast there Siriano. I see what you’ re trying to do. You’ re once again trying to rob curvy girls of their limelight. I thought this show was supposed to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes?
Joel is unfairly stealing the show here. How can we appreciate the girls behind him when all we can focus on is his beauty and bravery? Just look at him work the catwalk. He’s rocking those gold heels like nobody else could.
Putting a man in your fashion show reveals you’ re succumbing to the male patriarchy that so desperately needs to be defeated. Chalk this up to another loss for nonwhite curvy girls. Sad.
And one more thing. Calling your collection a “greenhouse” is in poor taste. Don’ t you know how bad things are right now? The human race is destroying the ozone layer. And you have the audacity to lightly reference a greenhouse without even considering the greenhouse gas effect? The least you could do was include an ecosexual to make up for it. But no. All we got was Joel.

There will be football in Tampa this weekend, and the Buccaneers will finally get to start a season delayed by Hurricane Irma’s wrath.
The Bucs announced that they will be able to host the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.
Tampa Bay couldn’ t play at Miami as scheduled in Week 1 because of the storm.
Buccaneers CEO Brian Ford says “hosting the game is important to us, as Tampa Bay has been through a lot over the past few days.“
Also, No. 22 South Florida is resuming practice Tuesday and will play host to Illinois on Friday, also at Raymond James.
USF athletic director Mark Harlan says “we are confident that Friday’s game can proceed safely as scheduled without impacting the recovery efforts.”

Luftverkehr: Brandbrief an die Air-Berlin-Piloten

0

Air Berlin hatte Mitte August Insolvenz angemeldet.
September fallen.
