Szansę gry w Siedlcach dostały młode zawodniczki – Sylwia Siemienas, Małgorzata Zuchora czy też Zuzanna Sklepowicz, która rozpoczęła w pierwszej piątce. Bohaterką meczu była jednak Sharnee Zoll-Norman. Amerykanka zaliczyła aż 18 asyst, co jest najlepszym wynikiem w Basket Lidze Kobiet.
Kolejne świetne spotkanie rozegrała Agnieszka Kaczmarczyk, autorka 21 punktów. Dwucyfrową zdobycz zaliczyły także Marissa Kastanek, Nikki Greene i Kateryna Rymarenko.
Największe emocje w tym meczu mieliśmy kiedy wykluczono z udziału w tym spotkaniu… trenera Ślęzy, Arkadiusza Rusina. Po kontrowersyjnej sytuacji, w której odgwizdano przewinienie Zuzanny Sklepowicz, szkoleniowiec Ślęzy podniósł się z ławki rezerwowych, nie godząc się z tym orzeczeniem. To nie spodobało się sędziom, które ukarały go przewinieniem technicznym, a po chwili drugim. W konsekwencji prowadzenie zespołu przejął asystent Rusina, Grzegorz Krzak.
W przyszłym tygodniu Ślęza będzie walczyć w turnieju Final Six Pucharu Polski, który odbędzie się w Krakowie. Przeciwnikiem wrocławianek w ćwierćfinale będzie Pszczółka Lublin. Spotkanie odbędzie się w piątek o godz. 17:30.

Nach Erdogans Sieg im Parlament: Will das Volk das Präsidialsystem?

NewsHubDie Szenen aus dem türkischen Parlament veranlassen sogar Ministerpräsident Binali Yildirim dazu, die Abgeordneten zur Räson zu rufen. Kurz zuvor hat sich die Parlamentarierin Aylin Nazliaka aus Protest gegen das von Staatschef Recep Tayyip Erdogan vorangetriebene Präsidialsystem ans Rednerpult gekettet, und zwar mit Handschellen. Daraufhin ist eine wüste Schlägerei zwischen Parlamentarierinnen der Opposition und der AKP-Regierungsfraktion entbrannt, eine Abgeordnete verliert ihre Armprothese, Haare fliegen.
Unter den prügelnden Parlamentarierinnen ist Gökcen Enc von der AKP, die wenige Tage zuvor im Parlament ein «Hunde verboten»-Schild in die Kameras gehalten hat. Der Grund dafür: Einer ihrer AKP-Kollegen wirft einem Oppositions-Abgeordneten vor, ihm bei einer Massenschlägerei während der Debatte ins Bein gebissen zu haben. Wer sich bei den handfesten Auseinandersetzungen ums Präsidialsystem am Ende durchsetzen würde, zeichnete sich bereits ab: Erdogan, der heimliche Anführer der AKP, der Partei bald auch formal wieder vorstehen dürfte – wenn alles weiter nach seinem Drehbuch läuft.
Bislang verbietet die Verfassung dem Präsidenten, einer Partei anzugehören. Das Ende dieses Verbots ist nur ein Teil der Verfassungsreform, der das Parlament am frühen Samstagmorgen mit der notwendigen Dreifünftelmehrheit zugestimmt hat. Diese Mehrheit ist ein erneuter Beweis für Erdogans riesigen Einfluss: Ihm ist es gelungen, Teile der ultranationalistischen Oppositionspartei MHP auf seine Seite zu ziehen – obwohl diese Abgeordneten damit nicht nur für die Entmachtung des Parlaments stimmten, sondern auch die Zukunft ihrer Partei in Frage gestellt haben dürften.
Die Reform – die nun noch durch ein Referendum muss – wäre der tiefste Einschnitt im politischen System der Türkei seit Jahrzehnten. Sie würde den Präsidenten mit einer Machtfülle ausstatten, wie sie demokratisch gewählte Staats- und Regierungschefs selten haben. Aus Sicht Erdogans ist das nötig, damit er das unter Terror und innerer Zerrissenheit leidende Land wieder in ruhige Fahrwasser steuern kann.
Der Chef der türkischen Anwaltskammer, Metin Feyzioglu, ist dagegen überzeugt, dass der Systemwechsel zu «Instabilität und Chaos» führen würde. Er vergleicht das Präsidialsystem mit einer Herrschaftsform, mit der die Türkei in ihrer osmanischen Vergangenheit jahrhundertelange Erfahrung gemacht hat: «Das nennt sich Sultanat.»
Theoretisch könnte Erdogan länger an der Macht bleiben als viele der osmanischen Sultane. Dabei hatte die AKP in ihrer Anfangszeit unter Erdogan eingeführt, dass Amtsperioden auf maximal drei begrenzt sind. An die Buchstaben dieses Parteistatuts hat Erdogan sich stets gehalten: Von 2003 bis 2014 war er drei Mal Ministerpräsident, dann ließ er sich zum Staatschef wählen. Macht und Einfluss nahm er einfach in das neue Amt mit, auch wenn die Verfassung das so nicht vorsah, weswegen sie nun schließlich auch geändert werden soll.
In die Reform hat die AKP eine Klausel eingebaut, die Erdogan unter Umständen ermöglichen könnte, die Geschicke der Türkei bis 2034 zu bestimmen. Dann wäre er 80 Jahre alt – und mehr als 30 Jahre an der Macht. Voraussetzung dafür wären nicht nur Erfolge bei künftigen Präsidentenwahlen, sondern auch, dass das Volk die Verfassungsreform im Frühjahr in einem Referendum billigt. Erdogan ist zuversichtlich, dass eine Mehrheit ihm auf seinem Kurs folgt. Ausgemachte Sache dürfte das aber nicht sein – erst recht nicht, wenn sich die wirtschaftlichen Probleme zur echten Krise auswachsen sollten.
Erdogan wirbt seit langem unablässig für sein Präsidialsystem, der formelle Beginn des 60-tägigen Wahlkampfs dürfte nun unmittelbar bevorstehen. Die Abstimmung am Tag des Referendums mag dann zwar weitgehend frei und fair verlaufen. Beim Wahlkampf aber sind Zweifel angebracht. Zahlreiche kritische Medien wurden geschlossen. Fernsehsender, die noch nicht völlig auf Regierungslinie sind, übertragen schon jetzt jede einzelne der vielen Ansprachen Erdogans live und in voller Länge. In staatsnahen Medien gibt es keinerlei sachliche Auseinandersetzung mit der Opposition.
Vor allem finden der Wahlkampf und womöglich auch das Referendum im Ausnahmezustand statt, den Erdogan nach dem Putschversuch vom Juli 2016 verhängt hat – und der kürzlich bis zum 19. April verlängert wurde. Zehntausende Menschen sind festgenommen worden, fast 100 000 Staatsbedienstete wurden entlassen. Regierungsgegner sind mit öffentlicher Kritik sehr vorsichtig geworden. Das mag erklären, warum kaum jemand gegen Erdogans Präsidialsystem auf die Straße geht – obwohl zwar vielleicht nicht die Mehrheit, aber doch ein großer Teil der Gesellschaft den Systemwechsel aus ganzem Herzen ablehnt.

Weather should shine on California women’s marches

NewsHubLOS ANGELES (AP) – Tens of thousands of protesters are expected to take part in marches up and down California on Saturday held in solidarity with the Women’s March on Washington.
They’ll likely be met with dry weather that has been rare in the state this week.
Morning marches advocating women’s rights and opposing Donald Trump ’s presidency in Los Angeles and Oakland and an afternoon march in San Francisco should arrive just between a series of storms that have been soaking the state and that dampened protests on Inauguration Day.
But there were still plenty of demonstrations Friday in the state that Trump lost overwhelming to Hillary Clinton and has become a center of resistance to the new president and his policies.
Thousands of protesters formed a human chain across the Golden Gate Bridge while thousands more marched through a driving rainstorm in Los Angeles as demonstrators in a state that overwhelmingly voted against Donald Trump ’s bid for the presidency rallied against his inauguration.
Shortly after Trump was sworn in as the nation’s 45th president, about 3,600 people with many dressed in purple ponchos lined arm-in-arm across the brightly colored bridge that is arguably California’s most recognizable symbol.
The color purple was chosen as a symbol protesting bullying, said bridge demonstration organizer Lisa Sato, something the new president’s critics have often accused him of.
Others carried signs proclaiming “Love Trumps Hate” as they walked across the bridge, careful to stay on its pedestrian walkway and not block passing cars whose drivers often honked in support.
“The Golden Gate Bridge is an iconic symbol for San Francisco and it’s really a symbol of unity,” said Sheila Chung-Hagen of San Francisco .
She said she was excited to be among thousands of people “here to promote love, not the kind of hate that we’ve been seeing with Trump .”
In Los Angeles, where rain is seen about as often as Trump ’s “Make America Great Again” hats, some 2,000 people braved a rare, ferocious rainstorm to march downtown to City Hall.
“Obviously there’s nothing we can do – he’s president now,” one protester, Martin Pineda, said about Trump as he stood amid pouring, wind-whipped rain at downtown’s LA Live entertainment district.
He added: “But I think the biggest problem in history that has repeated itself is when people remain silent. And as long as we don’t remain silent people will know that we’re fighting against what he has to say and what he believes in.”
The 26-year-old college student said he would stand up against Trump ’s promises to deport millions of people living in the country illegally and to create a national registry for Muslims.
In the city’s financial district, several dozen people blocked the 52-story skyscraper that once housed Bank of America’s headquarters and is now partly owned by Trump. Another group chained themselves to the nearby Wells Fargo headquarters.
Demonstrators also sought to blockade the San Francisco headquarters of Uber, whose CEO Travis Kalanick has a role on the Strategic and Policy Forum business group Trump formed after his election.
A few pro- Trump pockets of the state were celebrating.
About 100 people gathered for breakfast at an Inn in Riverside and applauded when Trump finished the oath of office.
“I feel safer already,” 63-year-old Victoria Hargrave told the Riverside Press-Enterprise.

Focus on Dele Alli as Tottenham draw with City

NewsHubIn-form midfielder Dele Alli was on target again as Tottenham claimed an unlikely 2-2 draw at Manchester City.
Having scored seven in his past five league games, including doubles against Southampton, Watford and Chelsea, the 20-year-old found the net again as a lacklustre Spurs fought from two goals down to earn a share of the spoils.
Here Press Association Sport runs the rule over the England international’s evening.
POSITIONAL
Alli spent a lot of time early on further forward than even Harry Kane as he tried to latch on to any errant back-passes and apply pressure to under-fire City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo. He drifted deeper and wide at times in an attempt to influence the game and broke into the box at the right moment to nod in the 58th minute.
ATTACKING THREAT
Spurs had not had an attempt on target before Alli found the net to make it 2-1. The England midfielder read his international colleague Kyle Walker’s thoughts and met the cross undetected before guiding an unstoppable header past Bravo. It was the only time he even got a sniff of goal, but it proved pivotal.
TEMPERAMENT
The knock on Alli is that he has a short fuse, a „naughty“ characteristic that his manager this month said he actually likes. There was evidence of the inevitable frustration creeping in after City went 1-0 ahead when Nicolas Otamendi tried to stop Alli taking a quick free-kick. The defender was shoved to the deck by the Spurs youngster, earning Alli a caution in the process.
IMPACT
The last time Tottenham met another Premier League heavyweight, it was two goals from Alli that swung the contest in their favour. On this occasion he was more on the periphery as City dominated for the majority of the game – but it was Alli’s header that started the comeback.

I stumbled across these beautiful flying machines in an unexpected place

NewsHubInside an incredible 134-year-old building in Manchester, England, I found something I didn’t expect: an Avro Shackleton patrol aircraft. And a massive tandem-rotor Bristol Belvedere helicopter. It’s the Air and Space hall of the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI).
The rest of the museum is across the street, and in addition to science exhibits for kids (and adults) there’s a collection of machines and locomotives from Britain’s steam-laden past.
Though small, it packs in a lot of cool stuff.
Here’s how it looks.
Manchester might not be the first name you think of when it comes to cars or aircraft, but being one of Britain’s industrial engines, it had more than its fair share of transport history. The first train station in the world was here, one of the terminals of the world’s first steam-powered intercity railway. The famous British airplane manufacturer Avro was founded here. So was Rolls Royce. Ford ’s first British factory was here too.
The Museum of Science and Industry is part science museum (hence the name), part air museum and part rail museum, with a bunch of steam, air and gas engines thrown in for good measure.
For this tour I concentrated on the Air and Space hall. Built in 1882, it’s roughly the same size as the Soylent Sky museum I visited last year, at the other end of the country in Southampton. There’s a great mix of aircraft here, along with some automobiles and a satellite (though that’s about as far as the „space“ part of the name gets).
The center of the building — dominating it, really — is an Avro Shackleton. This huge plane was designed in the 1940s as a maritime patrol aircraft, though it had some torpedoes or depth charges. Its twin tail is very reminiscent of the Avro Lancaster to which it was related. More interesting, perhaps, are the fairly rare contrarotating props.
The other big draw is the Bristol Belvedere, a long tandem-rotor helicopter that briefly saw service as a cargo helicopter and troop transport. It’s longer even than the (arguably) most famous tandem-rotor helicopter, the CH-47 Chinook.
The science museum has multiple interactive displays and, when I was there, lots of friendly staff to answer the questions (even from this old kid).
Then there’s the Power hall, a steampunk dream of elaborate copper, iron and steel engines and machines dating back to a far earlier age.
The buildings themselves are also interesting. The 1830 Warehouse dates from said year and the equally old Station building is the oldest railway station building in the world. There are multiple grade I and II listed buildings.
While there are bigger museums closer to London for those into planes , trains and cars , if you’re near Manchester it’s a few hours well spent, especially if you have kids. Plus it’s free.
