Honor phones have come thick and fast over the last few years, and the Honor 9 is the company’s latest. Here’s everything you need to know about the Honor 9 including release date, price and specs. Read next: Best phone for 2017.
As with most of the Honor phones, it pairs the specs of parent company Huawei’s latest flagship (in this case the Huawei P10) with a slightly tweaked design and a budget-friendly price point.

The Honor 9 is out in the UK from “ early July “ but right now we don’t have a more specific date that – we’ll update this article when we do.

That’s a pretty attractive price, undercutting all of 2017’s flagship phones despite offering comparable specs, and could make this one of the year’s best mid-range phones .
If you’d rather get the phone through a provider, it will be a UK exclusive for Three .
In terms of design, the Honor 9 is pretty much a cross between the Honor 8 and Huawei’s latest flagship, the P10 .
Like the Honor 8, it boasts an all-round glass design, though it’s been upgraded with 3D curved glass on the back, making the phone more comfortable to hold and undeniably snazzier.
The sides are made of curved metal, and match the colour of the front and back – you’ ll get a choice of Glacier Grey, Sapphire Blue, or Midnight Black.
The dual lens camera looks similar to the Honor 8’s, but look even closer and you’ ll spot that it’s the exact same lens and flash placement as on the Huawei P10.
The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the front home button – again, exactly echoing the P10 – while the front camera and speaker grille are a perfect match for both the Honor 8 and the P10.
Finally, the whole thing weighs 155g, and measures 143x71x7.45mm.
In terms of innards, the Honor 9 is remarkably close to Huawei’s P10. Like that phone, it has a Kirin 960 octa-core CPU, with four cores running at 2.4GHz and another four at 1.8GHz.
Similarly, it comes with 4GB RAM (though there are some versions with 6GB – we’ re not sure if the UK is getting them or not right now) . There’s 64GB of built-in storage, with support for microSD cards up to 256GB.
The display is a slightly unusual 5.15in (slightly up on the P10’s 5.1in, but down from the Honor 8’s 5.2in) and it’s 1920×1080, with 428 pixels per inch.
The battery is 3200mAh, which should be enough for a day or two of typical usage, and the Honor 9 supports fast charging over USB-C.
You get the usual Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC connectivity, along with the aforementioned fingerprint scanner on the front of the device.
The rear camera combines a 20Mp RGB lens with a 12Mp monochrome, and can capture stills at 5120 x 3540px and 4K video at 3840 x 2160px. These are, again, the same specs as the P10, and the Honor 9 shares that phone’s Hybrid Zoom functionality too.
The front-facing camera is a more modest 12Mp, which should still be enough for photos up to 3264 x 2448px and HD video at 1920 x 1080px.
Finally, in terms of software the Honor 9 runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, with Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 skin on top.
