Microsoft today is releasing a new firmware update for the Surface Pro 3, which is the first since April. It brings a couple of fixes to the aging device that focus on reliability and battery life.
Microsoft today released a new firmware update for the Surface Pro 3, bringing a couple of improvements to the device. It’s the first since April 20, and it’s impressive to see the company continuing to update a device so frequently that’s over three years old.
The update only contains a couple of fixes:
Microsoft says that today’s update includes improvements to reliability and battery life, with no impact on security, connectivity, compatibility, or performance.
One thing that’s still notably missing is support for the new Surface Pen, which just became available for pre-order. The update should bring support for the Pen’s tilting features, assuming that Microsoft wants to continue to support the aging device, and there’s no reason that it shouldn’t.
