Man injured in hit and run crash, suspect driver sought by police

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI — St. Joseph County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for the suspect driver and passenger in a hit and run crash that injured a 45-year-old Sturgis man.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at U. S. 131 and Riverside Drive in Constantine Township.
Police said the Sturgis man was driving a Dodge pickup truck north on U. S. 131. A Chevy passenger car traveling east on Riverside Drive pulled out in front of the pickup and caused a collision.
The driver and passenger of the Chevy car fled on foot into a wooded area, east of the crash scene.
Police said the suspects were tracked with a K9 unit but they were not found.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was described as am male in his upper 20s, stocky build with short dark hair. He was wearing a black tank top and dark colored shorts.
Police said the driver of the Dodge pickup truck received minor injuries in the crash. The people in the suspect vehicle are also believed to have minor injuries.
