Dunham, a long-time friend of the “Red” singer, applauded Swift hours after her Thursday courtroom address, during which she repeatedly asserted that former on-air personality David Mueller reached underneath her skirt and grabbed her bare backside during a 2013 meet-and-greet.
“Proud of @taylorswift13 for her fierce & cutting testimony & her refusal to settle for being treated like property, ” Dunham tweeted early Friday morning. “Her example is powerful.”
Swift’s testimony in a Denver courtroom occurred on the fourth day of the trial, and marked the first time she’s taken the stand during the ongoing case.

She testified that she had no doubt Mueller had groped her during a photo opportunity before the singer’s concert at Denver’s Pepsi Center four years ago.
“He stayed latched onto my bare a– cheek as I lurched away from him, ” Swift, 27, told the jury.
Mueller, meanwhile, has maintained his innocence, testifying on Tuesday that he may have contacted the singer’s ribs or rib cage, but claiming he did not touch her inappropriately.
“It’s a humiliating experience to be accused of something that despicable, ” Mueller told the court.

The 2013 photo that Swift took with Mueller emerged online and shows his hand reaching behind her backside, though it’s unclear if he made contact with her body.
Mueller was fired from his job as an on-air personality for the Denver radio station KYGO shortly after Swift’s allegations against him surfaced. He sued her in 2015 and is seeking $3 million damages.
Swift later countersued, alleging sexual assault, and is only seeking $1.
