Every year we see new innovations, and trends in the smartphone world. Among the various new technologies introduced, OEMs also concentrated on making powerful smartphones. To back up powerful processors, smartphones also need enough memory in terms of RAM and storage. This year, there have been a few smartphones launched with 8GB of RAM, which is the highest capacity available so far. Here’s a look at some of these smartphones that boast 8GB of RAM. OnePlus 5T
OnePlus 5T is the newest among the lot having launched just this week. The 8GB RAM variant comes with 128GB of internal storage. There’s also a 6GB RAM plus 64GB storage variant of the smartphone. The OnePlus 5T features a 6-inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, and is powered by the Snapdragon 835 SoC. For photography, it sports a dual-camera setup of 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors, and a 16-megapixel front camera. It is fueled by a 3,300mAh battery, and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based OxygenOS.
OnePlus 5
The OnePlus 5 launched earlier this year also comes with similar specifications as the OnePlus 5T but with the display being the major difference. The OnePlus 5 has a 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display. The OnePlus 5 also features the similar camera specifics, but the OnePlus 5T comes with some additional features. Razer Phone
A pioneer in gaming accessories and hardware, Razer launched its smartphone earlier this month. Packed with flagship specifications for a gaming smartphone, the Razer Phone offers 64GB of storage, which is expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card. The smartphone comes with a 5.72-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 835 SoC, and a 4,000mAh battery. It runs on near-stock Android Nougat. In terms of optics, it sports a dual-camera setup, which includes a combination of 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel camera of aperture f/2.0. Asus Zenfone AR
Other than its 8GB RAM capacity, the Asus Zenfone AR has, as the name suggests, AR capabilities. For this, the Zenfone AR is equipped with a 23-megapixel rear camera along with motion-tracking, and depth sensing technologies. It also has an 8-megapixel front camera with flash. The smartphone features a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, with Snapdragon 821 SoC under its hood. It is fueled by a 3,300mAh battery, and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. Nubia Z17
The nubia Z17 comes in three storage variants of 6GB RAM plus 64GB and 128 storage, and 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage. Launched this June, the nubia Z17 offers a 5.5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 835 SoC, and 3,200mAh battery. It also features a dual-camera module with the combination of 13-megapixel and 23-megapixel sensors, and a 16-megapixel camera up front for selfies. Nubia Z17s
Continuing with the Z17 series, nubia launched the Z17s last month. Like the OnePlus 5, it offers two storage variants of 6GB RAM plus 64GB storage, and 8GB RAM plus 128GB storage. The nubia Z17s also boasts flagship qualities with a 5.73-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 835 SoC, and a 3,100mAh battery. The smartphone’s highlight is its four camera setup, two at the rear and two in front. The setup includes a combination of 12-megapixel plus 23-megapixel sensors at the rear, and dual 5-megapixel cameras in front. On the software front, it runs on Android Nougat out-of-the-box.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 special edition
The Mi MIX 2 has a special edition which boasts a ceramic body in black and white, and 8GB of RAM plus 128GB storage. Rest of the specifications remain the same with a 5.99-inch full HD+ display, Snapdragon 835 SoC, 3,400mAh battery, and Android Nougat-based MIUI 9. In the photography department, the Mi MIX 2 sports a 12-megapixel rear camera of f/2.0 aperture. For selfies, it features a 5-megapixel camera with full HD video calling capabilities.
