Watch the new trailer for The Champions’ Ballad
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild ’s second of two expansions, The Champions’ Ballad, will be released tonight, Dec. 7, on Nintendo Switch and Wii U, Nintendo announced tonight during The Game Awards 2017.
Players will still take the role of Link in The Champions’ Ballad, although the downloadable content will provide even more of Zelda’s story. Nintendo will release amiibo for the four champions featured in the expansion: the Goron champion Daruk, the Rito champion Revali, the Zora champion Mipha and the Gerudo champion Urbosa. You can watch a new trailer above, which also includes a tease at the end of the Master Cycle Zero — yes, Link can unlock a motorcycle by completing the Divine Beast Tamer’s trials.
The Champions’ Ballad will be available as part of Breath of the Wild ’s Expansion Pass, which costs $19.99. The other half of the Expansion Pass is the game’s first expansion, The Master Trials, which was released at the end of June. The add-ons are not sold separately; if you want to play either of them, you must buy the full Expansion Pass.
Breath of the Wild itself was released in March to widespread critical acclaim; it is one of the best-reviewed games in history. For more, check out our own review and our comprehensive guide.
