Xiaomi’s Mi Max smartphones have huge displays and massive battery capacities, and they’re made for those who want the maximum screen real estate and the longest battery lives (most probably, multimedia junkies). Xiaomi released the Mi Max 2 last year with a better display and a larger, 5300mAh battery that can make the phone last up to two days. Thanks to some recent leaks, it is almost confirmed that the successor of the Mi Max 2 could be released very soon. The specifications of the Mi Max 3 has been leaked by a Weibo user, throwing some light on the display and the camera of the phone.
Going by the leaked specifications, the Mi Max 3 will sport a 6.99-inch display with Full-HD+ resolution (2160×1080 pixels) and 18:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, the phone will probably make use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 635 chipset and will be offered in two variants. Interestingly, Qualcomm is yet to officially announce the Snapdragon 635 chipset. The SoC is expected to have an octa-core CPU and is assumed to be the successor to the successful Snapdragon 625. Moving on to Mi Max 3’s memory configuration, it could arrive in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. The base model with 3GB RAM might feature 64GB of internal storage, whereas the 4GB RAM variant could have 128GB of internal storage.
The Android version which the smartphone will be running hasn’t been revealed yet, but we can assume the Mi Max 3 to run Android Oreo out of the box. The phone is expected to feature a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, while a 5-megapixel front-facing camera could do the heavy-lifting while capture your selfies and vlogs. The Mi Max 3 might come packed with a 5500mAh battery and support for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge rapid battery charging technology. The handset is expected to retail for CNY 1,699 (approx. Rs. 16,892) in China. It could make its debut in June 2018. Going by the company’s trend of using 18:9 screens in Redmi phones, we might see the launch of Redmi Note 5 with an 18:9 screen as well before the launch of Mi Max 3.
