Police say the suspect is still on the loose
AUGUSTA, Ga. – One person is dead and a suspect is on the loose after a shooting at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home, reports CBS affiliate WRDW .
The station reports that the Richmond County Coroner confirmed the death Friday. The station reports the shooting took place in the nursing home’s parking lot.
According to the August Fire Department, the shooting was a domestic violence attack and is not considered an active shooter situation.
The victim isn’t being identified pending family notification.
Several schools in the area were on lockdown as deputies searched for the suspect.
