NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has finally launched its much-teased smartphone in India. The company has launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is successor of the last year launched Redmi Note 4, which was the best selling smartphone of the company.
Price and availability
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is priced at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB version and the Rs 11,999 for the 4GB variant. The smartphone will come in Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Blue colour variants and will be exclusively available on Flipkart.
Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is the first Note series smartphone to come with a bezel-less display. Along with this, it is also the thinnest Redmi Note series smartphone. The device sports a 5.99-inch full HD+ display with 1080×2160 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top.
The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor and runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system topped with MIUI 9. The company also said that they are working on Oreo update and the device will soon receive it.
The smartphone comes in two variants — 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Users can further expand the storage by adding a microSD card. The dual-SIM smartphone features a 12MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter with front flash.
The device comes with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and is backed by a 4000mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the device offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
Along with this, the company also launched the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. This is the first smartphone of the company to come with a 20MP selfie camera and Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor.
