An internal memo that went out to Apple employees regarding leaks has found its way online, giving us details about what occurred over the past year, how the firm handled the situations, and more.
There is a huge problem when it comes to leaks and Apple is no exception. Every year, there are plenty of pieces of information that come to light well in advance regarding its software, handsets, and other devices. In an internal memo, Apple has made examples of its problem employees, alerting its campus that 29 people were caught in the past year, with 12 of them being arrested.
The internal memo goes into detail about what information was leaked and from what meetings. For example, Apple cited a meeting held by Craig Federighi, who is senior vice president of software engineering, in regards to an iPhone software feature delay and also an unreleased software package that contained details at the time about the unreleased iPhone X and Apple Watch.
There are many different kinds of impacts that leaked information can have on a company and its products. In the memo, the company states that it wants to be able to tell its customers how great its product are and not have it „done poorly by someone else“. This kind of memo isn’t the first for Apple, as it has held security seminars in the past, which ironically leaked to the public as well.
