Vivo has announced that it will be launching the NEX S flagship smartphone with Snapdragon 845 SoC in India on July 19th.
“The Vivo NEX S flagship with an under display fingerprint sensor is all set to reach Indian shores next month”
Earlier this month, we exclusively reported that Vivo was planning to launch the NEX series smartphones in India in the third week of July. Now as we reported, the company has sent out invites for a press event in India for July 19th. The brand’s invite hasn’t revealed which variant of the Vivo NEX will be landing in the country. However, 91mobiles has learned from industry sources that the Snapdragon 845 SoC-powered Vivo NEX S ( first impressions) model will be reaching the Indian shores at the event next month.
To recap the specs, the Vivo NEX S flagship flaunts a truly bezel-less design and comes with an under-display fingerprint scanner. The phone sports a unique design with a hidden selfie camera that pops-out of the top, whenever you need it to capture self-portraits. The device features a 6.59-inch Ultra FullView full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 19.3:9 and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.24 percent. Software-wise, the handset boots Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Powering the Vivo NEX S is the top-notch Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, aided by 8GB of RAM. The phone comes in two storage configurations – 128GB and 256GB, which can be further increased by inserting a microSD card. For imaging, there’s a dual 12MP + 5MP camera module at the rear, and an 8-megapixel elevating selfie camera on the top. A 4,000mAh battery keeps the 4G LTE-enabled offering running. The handset also comes with Vivo’s advanced voice assistant called Jovi with a dedicated key.
The Vivo NEX S will be available in black and red colour variants. The phone is retailing in China at the starting price of around Rs 47,000 for the base variant, which goes up to Rs 53,000 for the high-end model. We should have the handset’s Indian pricing and availability details at the event, so stay tuned.
