Police identify family killed in Southwest Michigan motel fire

The fire was at 1:45 a.m.
BERRIEN COUNTY, MI — Police have identified the six people killed in a motel fire near Benton Harbor.
They are Kiarre Samuel, 26; Marquise Thompson, 10; Gerome Randolph, 7: Samuel Curtis, 5; Savod Curtis,4; and Avery Curtis, 2.
Berrien County sheriff’s deputies said the fire at Cosmo Extended Living motel happened about 1:45 a.m. Saturday, July 26.
Police said the fire also caused injuries, including four first responders taken to Lakeland Medical Center for smoke inhalation. Four citizens also were treated for smoke inhalation.
Police said the victims are members of the same family.
