The dates of Apple’s biggest event of the year 2018 are out. The Cupertino giant will hold its annual event where it showcases the latest iPhone models on September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theatre in the Apple Park. CEO Tim Cook is expected to unveil 2018 iPhone models along with some other Apple gadgets at the event. So, here is what all Apple might launch on September 12.
Three new iPhones Apple is expected to launch three new iPhone models this time. All the upcoming iPhones are expected to feature notch design that was first introduced in the iPhone X last year. Apple is expected to launch iPhone X-like-looking phones this time in three display sizes — 6.5-inch with OLED display, 5.8-inch with OLED and 6.1-inch TFT-LCD.
Rumours have it that the 6.5-inch Plus model of the upcoming iPhone will be priced at around $1,000. In India, we can expect this to cost around Rs 90,000. On the other hand, the 5.8-inch iPhone model could be priced at around $800 or around Rs 70,000 in India after taxes.
Interestingly, the third model with a 6.1-inch display could be cheapest upcoming model at an expected price tag of around $700. In India, this model could cost around Rs 60,000 after taxes. However, given it’s the most affordable of the lot, the device is speculated to have a single-lens camera at the back.
All the new iPhones will most likely have a glass back with support for wireless charging. Also, the upcoming iPhones will be powered by the new A12 chips with more RAM and battery along with different storage options.
Apple Watch 4 Since last three year, Apple has been launching a new Apple Watch at its September event. So, we can expect the company to launch its next smartwatch — Apple Watch 4 on September 12. The fourth-generation Apple Watch is likely to be launched in two dial sizes- 38mm and 42mm with S4 chipset offering better battery life and performance. As far as connectivity concerned, Apple could launch it with LTE and WiFi options. The Apple Watch 4 is expected to look slightly different with thinner bezels than the previous models.
Apple AirPower Apple teased the AirPower charging pad last year and we can expect Apple to finally launch it during its September 12 event. For those unaware, AirPower is essentially a wireless charging pad that it can charge the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods simultaneously.
AirPods 2 Talking about AirPods, Apple is also expected to launch its the next generation Apple AirPods wireless earphones. Likely to be called AirPods 2, the upcoming AirPods are expected to be completely water resistant with better battery life and audio quality.
Rumours around new iPad Pro models
While there are little chances, some rumours also suggest that Apple could launch a new iPad Pro model in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes with support for FaceID and thinner bezels around the screen. Don’t be surprised if Apple removes the headphone jack from the new iPads which offer better battery life and performance.
