Gonzaga will take its second turn of the season at No. 1 in the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball coaches poll.
The Bulldogs grabbed the top spot from Duke, which dropped a midweek game to North Carolina. Gonzaga was voted No. 1 on 26 of 32 ballots, and, given the way the Bulldogs are dominating their West Coast Conference competition, they have a chance to hold on to the top spot until the NCAA tournament.
The Blue Devils rebounded from their loss and an injury to Zion Williamson to beat Syracuse over the weekend, avenging an early home defeat to the Orange, but they fall into a tie for second in the poll with Virginia.
