A witness said the beating may have been over a debt, according to police.
A man died late Tuesday after he was beaten with a stick at a food market in Northeast Houston, according to police.
Houston police homicide investigators said the suspect was carrying a large stick or „wooden dao“ when he walked into the store around 11:50 p.m. in the 3800 block of Liberty Road.
The man walked up to the victim and struck him once in the forehead, police said. The victim staggered and tried to get away as the suspect struck him again in the head, police said.
The victim fell to the ground, and after several minutes, the suspect and two other men picked him up and took him outside, according to police.
