President Trump on Tuesday said he was in the dark about his attorney general’s appointment of a federal prosecutor to scrutinize the origins of the Justice Department’s Russia probe — but that he welcomed the news.
“I didn’t ask him to do that. I didn’t know it. I saw it last night, and they want to look at how that whole hoax got started,” Trump said as he was leaving the White House for campaign stops and a fundraiser in Louisiana.
