Boston police seized seven illegal guns, arresting six people, in an eight-hour span after a rash of shootings in the city. First, at about 4:28 p.m. Friday, cops called to Geneva Avenue in Dorchester for reports of a person with a gun say a man standing on a porch took one look at them and dashed off. Police arrested 49-year-old Shane Whitsey on weapons and trespassing charges after they say they found his gun in a dustpan on the landing. An hour later, state and local vice cops in East Boston say they saw a man slinging drugs out of a car on Trenton Street. When officers approached the car and searched one of the men inside, they found a loaded handgun in his waistband, police said. Cops arrested Angelo Ramos,24, of Winthrop, on firearms charges, including heightened charges due to it being a repeat offense. Then at 7:09 p.m., a driver who’d struck a scooter on Norfolk Avenue in Roxbury and bystanders told police that a man on the scooter had dashed into a nearby park before returning.
