Google is working to resolve the problem, but hasn’t said when 5G will be available.
Google Fi is a tempting alternative to the major US telecomms providers, especially if you take up its current offer for a very cheap Pixel 4a. However, if you’re upgrading to an iPhone 12 or 12 Pro this month, don’t expect a 5G connection on Google Fi. As 9To5Google reports, Google Fi uses T-Mobile’s network to offer a 5G connection nationwide, so subscribers would be right to think upgrading to iPhone 12 would include access to that 5G network.
