Norwalk mayor declares a state of emergency for COVID-19

Norwalk Mayor Tom Phillips declared a state of emergency in Norwalk as COVID-19 cases rise in both the city and county. Phillips issued the proclamation Tuesday morning which closes all city buildings to the public starting 9 a.m. All Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department activities are also on hold until Nov.30. City parks will remain open. „I strongly encourage all vulnerable residents of Norwalk, including those with preexisting medical conditions and those older than 65, to limit their activities outside of their home, minimize visits to businesses and limit their participation in gatherings of any size or purpose,“ he said in a press release announcing the proclamation.
