Mayoral hopeful Andrew Yang, a lifelong Mets fan, ditched team loyalty and greeted throngs of Yankee fans outside their home stadium Thursday as the Bronx Bombers geared up for their first game of the season. “Yankee Stadium is glorious,” Yang told reporters outside the homeplate entrance to Yankee Stadium in between chatting with lines of fans waiting to take in the Opening Day tilt between the Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays. Before heading into the stadium with his wife and kids, Yang admitted that his heart belongs to Citi Field. “I’ve been to many more Mets games than Yankees games, but right now it’s all about getting New York City back on its feet, and so I’m pumped to be here at Yankee Stadium to celebrate Opening Day,” said Yang, who donned a dark blue Yankees scarf for the chilly, windy weather.
