Red Sox name Opening Day roster for 2021
Opening Day for the Red Sox may come a day later than expected, but they still had to set their first 26-man roster of the season on Thursday. There were no surprises, as 14 pitchers and 12 positional players officially made the cut for Friday’s opener at Fenway Park against the Orioles. The Red Sox put Eduardo Rodriguez on the 10-day injured list with left elbow inflammation and Ryan Brasier on the 10-day injured list with a left calf strain, both retroactive to March 29.
