The show sees the launch of many of the year’s top smartphones, smartwatches and tablets, as well as seeing the emergence of the hottest new trends in mobile. Outside of the consumer sphere, it also draws in many of the industry heavyweights to talk about the future of mobile, like 5G, mobile hardware, VR and other associated technologies. Here’s everything you need to know about the show. When is Mobile World Congress? MWC Barcelona: 28 February-3 March 2022 In 2022 Mobile World Congress is planning to return to its regular time slot in the calendar – that’s at the end of February. In 2021 it was delayed until June and few companies attended the show. While the official dates are 28 February to 3 March, these are the dates that the MWC conference schedule runs – often the media launches are in the preceeding days,26-27 February, giving us a few days of rapid announcements. The GSMA is running a physical event for Mobile World Congress and it looks like attendance at the show is going to be good, with wide representation. Which companies have pulled out of MWC 2022? As has been the trend of recent conferences, some companies have confirmed that they won’t be attending the show because of the current pandemic status. We’ve heard that Sony Mobile will not be at MWC 2022. We’ve also heard that Lenovo won’t be in attendance. MWC UPDATE: Due to the ongoing trends surrounding COVID, Lenovo’s activation at MWC 2022 will be fully virtual. — Lenovo Stories & News (@LenovoNews) January 25,2022 What to expect from Mobile World Congress 2022 In any normal year, there would be a series of launches from some of the leading mobile phone manufacturers – the likes of Sony Mobile and Nokia typically use MWC to launch new devices, there’s often big showcases from the likes of Qualcomm and Samsung. MWC 2022 will be slightly different, but it still looks like there will be many announcement from brands. All the times below are CET, the timings for MWC in Barcelona. Pocket-lint Samsung at MWC 2022 27 February, 19:00 CET Samsung has already had a bumper collection of launches for 2022 – the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and the Galaxy S22 Ultra have been announced, as have the Galaxy Tab S8 family of devices.
