Ever since August, we have been hearing how Google is planning on upping its software support game for the latest Pixel 8 series phones, and today, a new report suggests that Google is thinking of bumping that number up to seven years for the new devices.Google could urge all the other phone manufactures to catch up with seven years of software updates on Pixel 8 series
The report suggests that both the Pixel 8 series devices will get „seven years of OS, security and Feature Drop updates.” This information was provided by 91Mobiles and renowned leaker Kamila Wojciechowska. Wojciechowska actually shared the entire spec sheet of both phones, but of course, the highlight here is that you are getting the updates for that long.
At the time of writing, Google offers five years of Pixel updates, with three years of OS updates and two years of security matches. If the leaked spec sheet is true, then the seven years would mean five years of Android OS updates and two years of security updates for the Pixel 8 series, which is still impressive.
