The White House has apparently been conducting an „investigation“ into how Israel has been using the weapons that we sell them. They have reportedly concluded that Israel „likely“ violated international humanitarian law while fighting in the Gaza Strip. But at the same time, the report was unable to immediately link any specific weapons to individual strikes where these supposed humanitarian laws may have been violated. This is yet another slap in the face to Israel and a blatant attempt to score political points with the pro-Hamas wing of the Democratic Party and the anti-Israel protesters around the country. The Biden administration said Friday that Israel’s use of U.S.-provided weapons in Gaza likely violated international humanitarian law but wartime conditions prevented U.S. officials from determining that for certain in specific airstrikes.
The administration’s finding of “reasonable” evidence to conclude that its ally had breached international law in its conduct of the war in Gaza, released in a summary of a report being delivered to Congress on Friday, represents the strongest such statement from Biden officials.
