Prime Video unveiled the first teaser trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 during Amazon’s inaugural upfront presentation in New York City this morning. The trailer for the second season of the Tolkien adaptation teased incredible amounts of epic battles, terrifying creatures, magical sea monsters, titular Rings of Power, and a fully-powered Sauron (Charlie Vickers) making mincemeat of various Middle-earth heroes. Not only that, but the first Lord of the Rings Season 2 trailer also confirmed what fans have long known: human hero Isildur (Maxim Baldry) did not die in Season 1 and has in fact teamed up with elf Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova) to fight his way through Mordor. Prime Video also revealed today that that The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 will debut globally on Thursday, August 29, 2024, aka Labor Day Weekend.
The first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power followed a young Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) as she fought to prove that evil still lurked somewhere in Middle-earth.
