As hurricane Michael approaches Florida, scientists said Southwest Florida could see some positive effects.
“The wind will be moving those algae blooms against the wall of the canal, and sometimes it will be moving them downstream, and sometimes it will not have any effect because canals are too narrow,” said Dr. Thomas.
