Modder converts Wii U controller into working Switch unit

0

Switch is generally perceived as a natural evolution of the Wii U GamePad, and now someone has created the missing link.
There is certainly no shortage of talented video game modders who create technological magic and demonstrate a level of creativity that should put larger companies to shame. Today, we have a fine example of this from modder Kouzex, who has built on the idea that the Switch is a natural evolution of the Wii U.
He has managed to fit a fully functional Switch into a Wii U GamePad, making sure that it works with all games (digital, not physical), is not noticeably altered, and has functioning buttons. Kouzex chose to work with a Switch Lite, which does not rely on detachable Joy-Cons, which he managed to fit in nicely after a lot of tinkering and fixing.
This is what he says about his creation:
„This turned out amazing. I think it looks barely modified and definitely fits within what I would call a sleeper build. The printed frame and larger bezels aren’t too noticeable, and I think it would trick most people, if they even know what a Wii U is in the first place. Literally every button on the Gamepad corresponds to a button on the Switch. Everything is mapped one to one other than the TV button, which is capture.“
The reason Kouzex took on the project is that many people have said they prefer the ergonomics of the Wii U GamePad over the Switch, and he is so pleased with his result that he says the device „is definitely coming with me the next time I’m on a plane.“
Check out the video below for a walkthrough of the process and a look at the finished result. Would you have liked to have a Switch (or maybe even better, a Switch 2?) that looked like a Wii U GamePad?

Rumor: Resident Evil – Code: Veronica will be announced next year

0

And it will be released in 2027, with the remake of Resident Evil Zero dropping in 2028, perhaps to a new generation consoles.
It may have been poor timing considering all the news from The Game Awards, but just hours before the show started, an Xbox executive revealed that there will be an Xbox event at the end of January, where we will get to see both Fable and Forza Horizon 6, among other things.
Someone who obviously likes Resident Evil very much took to social media to ask the renowned Capcom insider DuskGolem if this Xbox event could be the place where Capcom will present the long-rumored (but never officially announced) Resident Evil – Code: Veronica Remake.
DuskGolem responded to this, writing that Capcom will definitely not be announcing any new games in the series that would draw attention away from Resident Evil Requiem just one month before its premiere. However, he added that it will still be announced next year, where we suspect the Summer Game Fest events in June, Gamescom in August, Tokyo Game Show in September, and The Game Awards in December are the most likely candidates:
„What I’ve heard is Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake should be announced next year, and release in 2027, then Zero Remake releasing the following year in 2028. I’ll keep you posted if I hear differently.“
In short, it sounds like the Resident Evil Zero remake is also alive and well, and perhaps optimized for next-generation consoles, as most analysts seem to agree that both the PlayStation 6 and Xbox Next (or whatever it will be called) will be launched then.

5 Exciting DeWalt Products Coming Out In 2026

0

DeWalt announced at the 2025 Equip Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, that it’s launching a new backpack leaf blower, new landscaping stick tools, and more for 2026.
DeWalt is often counted as one of the best major power tool brands on the market. The company has built an impressive reputation for both build quality and performance, while also offering a wide range of pro-grade tools for everything from woodworking to automotive repair to landscaping, and there are new black and yellow products coming out every year.
2025 saw the addition of a new 20V Max XR ½-inch Brushless Hammer Drill/Driver, a 20V Max 15° Coil Roofing Nailer Kit, a 20V Max XR Brushless 4-1/2 – 5-inch Small Angle Grinder, a 60V Max Brushless 7-¼-inch Circular Saw, and even more new accessories, hand tools, gear, and equipment. There are tons of great options for new DeWalt tools to add to your kit in 2025, but fans of the brand might be curious what DeWalt has in store for 2026. DeWalt has made a few announcements at trade shows and other industry events–particularly during the 2025 Equip Expo in Louisville, Kentucky.
This is certainly not a comprehensive list of all the tools that the company will be launching in the coming year, but it does give you a peek at a few of the exciting products that DeWalt has in store. It looks as if there are going to be some big expansions in the outdoor power equipment category. There have also been some suggestions that the new DeWalt PowerShift system for concrete and construction heavy power equipment and accessories will continue to roll out, though no new models have been officially announced as of this writing.New landscaping stick tools
During the 2025 Equip Expo, DeWalt’s Director of Professional Dealer Sales, Aaron Griffith, outlined (via YouTube) several of the outdoor battery-powered products that would be coming in 2026. He explained that the company had three stick tools that had been part of the previous lineup that will continue being sold: a string trimmer, a clearing saw, and a brush cutter. Griffith claimed that these three battery-powered tools were able to generate power that would be equivalent to a 36 cc gas-powered engine.
These are going to remain the high-end options, but DeWalt is releasing three new battery-powered models in 2026 with brand new motors in them, which include a string trimmer, a straight edger, and a curve-shaft edger. Griffith claims that all three of these new tools will be powered by an electric engine that promises to provide performance that is the equivalent of what you can expect from a 28 cc gas-powered motor.
While not as powerful as the previously mentioned tools, these new options should still offer performance equivalent to the median range of the average gas-powered trimmer, providing power in the field, with less fumes, weight, and maintenance requirements. The addition of the edgers expands the line’s range of utility, and the different-sized string trimmers may also come at varying price points, giving shoppers options.New backpack blower
DeWalt has a pretty extensive catalog of power tools, so it’s rare for the company to come out with something that it doesn’t already make. One of the big new additions that has fans excited is DeWalt’s new Backpack Blower. DeWalt has offered a few handheld battery-powered blowers over the past few years, but the selection and range of power outputs have been fairly limited until now.
Griffith pointed out the new DeWalt Backpack Blower that will be coming out for 2026 during his showcase as well. He stated that this new model will be able to generate up to 850 CFM. That’s a significant increase over DeWalt’s previous strongest leaf blower and nearly double the volume of air movement that you could get from the standard handheld version. This 850 CFM travels at speeds up to 160 mph. The tool also has three performance modes: Eco, Performance, and Turbo. Within these modes, power is controlled with a locking variable speed trigger.
The fact that DeWalt’s adding a backpack blower to its lineup also provides a more high-end option for professional landscapers and other people in the trades who want a tool that can cover a lot of ground without having to carry all the weight in their hands. While Griffith stated that this was intended for a 2026 launch in his showcase, it appears that some variations of the model are already available on the DeWalt website, having launched just weeks before the new year.New hedge trimmers
A few other pieces of outdoor power equipment were announced as well, including a pair of hedge trimmers. Griffith mentioned that there would be two new hedge trimmer models coming out in 2026: a fixed hedge trimmer and an articulating hedge trimmer. Not much information was provided about these at the time of filming, but new listings have appeared on the DeWalt page for these tools that report the specs.
Both of them are part of the 60V Max system, meaning that they will be getting a tremendous amount of battery power. Both also have a 22-inch blade length with a 1.25-inch cut capacity thanks to their dual-edge hardened blades, variable speed triggers, an LED display, and promise the ability to cut at a rate of 4,500 strokes per minute.
There are some differences between them, however. The fixed head pole hedge trimmer has a total reach of 78 inches, while the articulating trimmer can reach a full 92 inches. But of course, the biggest difference is that the articulating trimmer. well. articulates. The head can be set at any one of seven different positions for navigating awkward spaces and more precisely shaping foliage.A new, lighter hand chainsaw
The last piece of power equipment to get pointed out was a new top-handled hand chainsaw. DeWalt already has a few battery-powered handheld chainsaws in its lineup, but Griffith specifically pointed out that this one would be smaller and lighter, while still boasting a 12-inch bar.
Much like with the backpack blower, Griffith stated that this was intended as a 2026 launch, but it seems that this tool managed to hit some stores a bit early. The 60V Max 12-inch Brushless Cordless Compact Top Handle Chainsaw with Tool Connect already has a live listing on the DeWalt website, which provides a few more details about the specs and performance that you might be able to expect from it.
This chainsaw promises to produce up to 3.42 horsepower, allowing its chain to cut at a speed of 23.6 m/s. According to DeWalt’s product description, this allows the tool to cut „through a 10-in. diameter maple log in as fast as 6.8 seconds.“ So, this small but mighty chainsaw, powered by the 60V battery systems, can work in tight spaces without excessive fatigue on the part of the user and without sacrificing power. It also boasts an ergonomic design, an adjustable oiler, a D-ring harness attachment point, tooled tensioning, an inertia chain brake, metal bucking spikes, and an LED dashboard.New Power Manager mass charging solution
One of the last things that Griffith mentioned in his presentation was an exciting new solution for mass charging power tool battery packs that would be coming out in 2026. He referred to it as a Mass Power Manager. At a glance, this might look like a simple six-outlet power strip, even if it’s quite large and appears to have been designed for heavy-duty applications, but there’s a bit more to it than that. This product is specifically designed for DeWalt users who have a significant number of batteries that they want to be able to charge overnight.
Griffith explains that battery chargers that are plugged directly into the wall or a power strip might draw too much power all at once and could potentially blow a breaker. This isn’t usually a problem for most home users who only go through two or three batteries a day at the most, but those who own businesses that go through dozens of batteries a day might require a different solution. The Power Manager has a built-in regulator that can be plugged into a single outlet and restricts the flow of electricity that runs to the chargers, keeping it at a reasonable threshold.
With six outlets on the Power Manager, and each outlet being able to host one of DeWalt’s 4-port battery chargers, this provides a safe way for you to charge up to 24 batteries using a single wall outlet. This lower electricity regulation likely means that batteries will charge slower than they would without the Power Manager, but it’s a great way to slowly and safely charge them overnight.

Josh Allen vomits on sideline during Bills’ epic comeback against Patriots

Bills quarterback Josh Allen was seen vomiting on the sidelines during the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s 35–31 comeback victory over the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
Josh Allen put his blood, sweat, tears, and more into Sunday’s win.
The Bills quarterback was seen vomiting on the sidelines during the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s 35–31 comeback victory over the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
“It basically happens every game,” Allen told reporters after the game, describing what has long been considered an unfortunate pre-game ritual.
“If I don’t get enough out pregame… It just happens.”
CBS cameras caught the reigning MVP, draped in a blue sideline cape coat, tossing cookies after New England’s Trey’Von Henderson erupted for a 65-yard, go-ahead touchdown run that put the Pats up three with just over nine minutes to go.
But the Bills punched right back, retaking the lead with an 11-yard rush from James Cook — and cementing the final score with an extra point from Matt Prater.
Allen, 29, spurred the valiant comeback effort after Buffalo trudged into the tunnel facing a steep 24–7 deficit at intermission.
The Bills erupted for 28 points in the second half, with the former Wyoming standout finishing his night 19 of 28 passing for 193 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.
It marked Buffalo’s third double-digit comeback of the season, with the Bills rallying from a 15-point, fourth-quarter deficit against the Ravens in the season opener and clawing out of a 10-point hole against the Bengals just last week — with Allen playing a starring role in both efforts.
With their third consecutive win, the Bills (10–4) avenged their Week 5 loss to the Patriots (11–3) and snapped their 10-game winning streak.
Buffalo also moved within one game of New England in the AFC East standings with just three weeks to go. It added to the happy time for Allen, who is expecting his first child with wife Hailee Steinfeld.
The Bills continue their road trip against the Cleveland Browns on Dec. 21.

Singer Trey Songz arrested for allegedly punching NYC nightclub employee in the face

Singer Trey Songz was arrested for assault after allegedly punching a nightclub employee in the face earlier this month.
Singer Trey Songz was arrested for assault after allegedly punching a New York nightclub employee in the face earlier this month.
Songz and his friends were partying at Dramma Night Club in Times Square on Dec. 6 and allegedly “became needlessly irate” when a worker told him the club was closing around 4 a.m., prosecutors said in Manhattan criminal court, according to The Post.
Prosecutors claim the 41-year-old punched the worker in the face, causing “swelling and substantial pain.”
Songz appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court on Sunday and was charged on two counts — mischief in the second degree and assault in the third degree.
The employee was granted an order of protection against Songz, who is a regular at the nightclub, according to prosecutors.
The songwriter, born Tremaine Neverson, left court wearing a hood covering his face and declined to comment.
He was granted supervised release as the judge noted his history of run-ins with the law made him a risk and is due back in court Feb. 18, per The Post.
Reps for Songz did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
In 2016, the “Na Na” hitmaker was arrested and charged with assault after an onstage meltdown in which he threw microphones and speakers from the stage of his Detroit concert.
Subsequently, the R&B artist took a plea deal on two counts of disturbing the peace and served 18 months of probation.
In 2018, a woman accused Songz of striking her in the face during an NBA All-Star event and obtained a restraining order against him.
That same month, he was arrested on felony assault charges, though all charges against him were ultimately dropped.
But in January 2021, he was arrested again after a wild caught-on-camera brawl with a cop at a =Kansas City Chiefs game.
After being released from jail, the “Bottoms Up” crooner poked fun at the incident, posting a series of photos on a private jet to social media and quipped, “Chiefs game was lit right?!”
That same year, he was subject to a sexual assault investigation after former Las Vegas basketball player Dylan Gonzalez accused the singer of raping her.
Songz denied all of her claims and was cleared of all allegations by April 2022 due to lack of evidence.
He was accused of more incidents of sexual assault in February 2022 in a $20 million lawsuit, including “brutal” rape. A confidential settlement was reached back in September.
In the latest lawsuit against him, the musician was sued for sexual assault after a woman alleged he groped her breasts during an incident in 2013.
In documents obtained by Page Six, Jane Doe claimed that Songz “came up behind” her, and she was “shocked” to see that he allegedly “ripped back her bathing suit top, grabbed her breasts, and exposed them” to those inside of the tent, per the lawsuit.
That lawsuit is still pending as his team continues to file motions to dismiss Doe’s complaint.

Lions lose 41-34 as Rams clinch playoff berth

Los Angeles is headed to the playoffs for the third straight year and for the seventh time in coach Sean McVay’s nine seasons.
Matthew Stafford passed for 368 yards and hit Colby Parkinson for two touchdowns, and the NFC-leading Los Angeles Rams clinched a playoff berth with a furious second-half rally for a 41-34 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Kyren Williams rushed for two scores and Blake Corum added another TD for the Rams (11-3), who came back from a double-digit deficit shortly before halftime with 20 consecutive points to secure their eighth victory in nine games.
Los Angeles is headed to the playoffs for the third straight year and for the seventh time in coach Sean McVay’s nine seasons.
After throwing his fifth interception of the season in an inconsistent first half, Stafford ruthlessly led the Rams to victory in the second half. He heard chants of “M-V-P! M-V-P!” from the SoFi Stadium crowd after hitting Parkinson for an 11-yard score with 4:49 to play.
Amon-Ra St. Brown scorched his hometown team for 163 yards and two touchdowns on 13 receptions for the Lions (8-6). Jared Goff passed for 338 yards and three TDs, but Detroit has alternated wins and losses since Week 5, endangering its hopes for a third straight playoff berth.
Jameson Williams caught a 31-yard TD pass and had seven receptions for 134 yards. David Montgomery also scored with 2:42 to play to make it close — but the Rams got a first down to exhaust the Lions’ timeouts, preventing a last-second comeback.
Detroit’s offense dominated the first half, averaging 8.5 yards per play and taking a 24-14 lead shortly before halftime. St. Brown caught a 17-yard touchdown pass set up by Aidan Hutchinson’s 58-yard interception return in the first quarter, and the Orange County native scored again in the second before finishing the first half with nine catches for 127 yards.
But Parkinson caught a 26-yard TD pass late in the third quarter to put the Rams back ahead. His second TD catch in the fourth quarter was his sixth in his past six games, surpassing the veteran tight end’s total TDs in his first 5½ NFL seasons.
Stafford and the Rams controlled the second half even while losing both of their star receivers in the fourth quarter.
Davante Adams injured his hamstring while running a long route with 12:36 to play, and Puka Nacua — who had nine catches for 181 yards — left due to cramps one snap before Parkinson’s second TD. Nacua returned for the Rams’ final series.
Detroit missed a field goal on its opening drive, but Stafford’s ill-advised attempt at a screen pass moments later was picked off by the 6-foot-7 Hutchinson, who made a long return.
Kyren Williams scored on consecutive drives for the Rams, but USC product St. Brown scored his second TD on an 8-yard catch before Jameson Williams got open comfortably for his long scoring catch 30 seconds before halftime, sending the Rams to their biggest deficit since Week 5.
But after Harrison Mevis made field goals on either side of halftime, the Rams reclaimed the lead on Parkinson’s sprawling TD catch in tight coverage.
The Rams forced a punt and went 50 yards in two plays for another score, with Nacua’s 39-yard catch setting up Corum’s TD run.Injuries
Rams: Adams, the NFL’s leader in TD receptions, has been limited by hamstring injuries twice already this season. He was listed as questionable for this game.Up next

Packers' Micah Parsons leaves Broncos game with knee injury

0

The Bears and Packers play each other Saturday.
The Bears’ rematch against their rival will likely take place without the Packers’ best player.
Edge rusher Micah Parsons was helped off the field in Denver on Sunday after suffering what appeared to be a non-contact knee injury. ESPN reported after the Packers’ 34-26 loss to the Broncos that he’s believed to have torn his ACL, which would keep him for the rest of the season.
The 10-4 Bears will host the Packers on Saturday, just 13 days after they lost to them at Soldier Field. The Bears could be without two of their best receivers — Rome Odunze remains out with a chronic foot issue that flared up during warmups Sunday and Luther Burden II left with an ankle injury.
The Bears handled Parsons well in their first matchup, though coach Matt LaFleur later bemoaned holding penalties that he said were not called by officials in the moment.
