HONOR Magic V6 Spec Leak Reveals Significant Battery & Camera Upgrades

HONOR Magic V6 leak reveals the upgrades it will bring. The phone may launch in March, which is earlier than Magic V5’s launch timeline.
HONOR’s next foldable is the Magic V6, a successor to this year’s Magic V5. The most recent leak said that it had already entered the development stage. Though there’s still some time before the foldable launches, a lot has been said about it already, including how it’ll feature a 200MP main camera, possibly looking to take on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. A new leak has now revealed the upgrades that the HONOR Magic V6 would bring over its predecessor. HONOR Magic V6 could arrive with battery, camera, and performance upgrades
A new leak on X from @RODENT950 notes that the HONOR Magic V6 will bring some notable upgrades over the Magic V5. Reiterating a previous leak, the leaker says the foldable will feature a 200MP camera. However, details regarding other sensors remain in the dark, at least for now. But they could be quite solid, considering the brand’s emphasis on cameras on its flagships, besides durability. For comparison, the Magic V5 houses a 50MP main sensor and ultrawide sensor and a 64MP periscope telephoto lens.
Furthermore, the upcoming HONOR foldable is tipped to feature the “latest Snapdragon,” which could be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. For comparison, the HONOR Magic V5 ships with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. The foldable may arrive early
The headlining feature, however, as per the leaker, will be a 7,000mAh battery. This closely matches a recent leak that said the HONOR Magic V6 could get two battery options. One with a 6,900mAh cell and the other with a 7,200mAh cell. So, it’s more or less certain at this point that we’ll see the upcoming HONOR foldable packing a large battery. Well, at least in select regions.
Considering it pans out, this will be a significant upgrade, and one that beats current foldables. To jog your memory, HONOR’s Magic V5 foldable came in two battery variants: a 5,820mAh battery for global and a 6,100mAh cell for China. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is rocking a modest 4,400mAh battery.
Lastly, the leak says the HONOR Magic V6 will debut in March 2026, which is much earlier than the Magic V5’s launch timeline. To recall, the HONOR Magic V5 went official in China in July and expanded globally in August.

Macron and EU condemn US visa bans as row over ‘censorship’ escalates

Washington accused of ‘coercion and intimidation’ after five Europeans behind campaign to regulate US tech giants targeted
Washington accused of ‘coercion and intimidation’ after five Europeans behind campaign to regulate US tech giants targeted
The French president, Emmanuel Macron, and the European Union have accused Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, after the US imposed a visa ban on five prominent European figures who have been at heart of the campaign to introduce laws regulating American tech giants.
The visa bans were imposed on Tuesday on Thierry Breton, a former EU commissioner and one of the architects of the bloc’s Digital Services Act (DSA), and four anti-disinformation campaigners, including two in Germany and two in the UK.
The move also targeted Imran Ahmed, the British chief executive of the US-based Center for Countering Digital Hate; Anna-Lena von Hodenberg and Josephine Ballon of the German non-profit HateAid; and Clare Melford, co-founder of the Global Disinformation Index.
Justifying the visa bans, the US secretary of state, Marco Rubio, wrote on X: “For far too long, ideologues in Europe have led organised efforts to coerce American platforms to punish American viewpoints they oppose. The Trump administration will no longer tolerate these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
The DSA is seen by Washington as a form of censorship while European leaders say the regulations are necessary to control hate speech, but the row threatens to become part of a far wider existing cultural and political conflict between Donald Trump’s administration and Europe. Artificial intelligence and digital technologies were always likely to become a major theatre of confrontation between the US and Europe, as these technologies become ever more central to wielding power.
Macron condemned the visa ban in furious terms. “These measures amount to intimidation and coercion aimed at undermining European digital sovereignty,” he wrote, also on X. “The European Union’s digital regulations were adopted following a democratic and sovereign process by the European Parliament and the Council. They apply within Europe to ensure fair competition among platforms, without targeting any third country, and to ensure that what is illegal offline is also illegal online. The rules governing the European Union’s digital space are not meant to be determined outside Europe”.
The French foreign minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, said: “The peoples of Europe are free and sovereign and cannot let the rules governing their digital space be imposed by others upon them.”
Breton, a former French finance minister and the European commissioner for the internal market from 2019 to 2024, said: “Is McCarthy’s witch-hunt back?
“As a reminder: 90% of the European parliament – our democratically elected body – and all 27 member states unanimously voted the DSA. To our American friends: censorship isn’t where you think it is.”
A European Commission spokesperson said: “If needed, we will respond swiftly and decisively to defend our regulatory autonomy against unjustified measures,”
The EU insists its move is designed to make the online environment safer, in part by compelling tech giants to do more to tackle illegal content, including hate speech and child sexual abuse material.
Washington has taken a different view, claiming the EU is pursuing “undue” restrictions on freedom of expression in its efforts to combat hateful speech, misinformation and disinformation, and that the DSA unfairly targets US tech giants and US citizens.
Elon Musk’s X platform was fined €120m (£104m) by the EU for breaching online content rules.
Breton was replaced in the internal market role at the EU by another French politician, Stéphane Séjourné, who is the Commission’s executive vice-president. Séjourné expressed his support for his predecessor saying: “No sanction will silence the sovereignty of the European peoples. Total solidarity with him and all the people of Europe affected by this”.
Outlining the bans on Tuesday, US under secretary for public diplomacy, Sarah Rogers, classified Breton as a “mastermind” of the DSA.
Germany’s justice ministry said the two German campaigners had the government’s “support and solidarity” and the visa bans were unacceptable, adding that HateAid supported people affected by unlawful digital hate speech.
“Anyone who describes this as censorship is misrepresenting our constitutional system,” it said in a statement. “The rules by which we want to live in the digital space in Germany and in Europe are not decided in Washington.”
Dennis Radtke, an MEP and member of the German ruling CDU, said: “The Trump fans in Europe defend this as a fight for freedom of speech. Where exactly has an opinion been suppressed? Where is the fight for freedom of speech with regard to China and Russia? It’s only about business here and the fight against the rule of law.”
Raphaël Glucksmann, a French socialist MEP, said in a message to Rubio: “For far too long, Europe has been weak in implementing its own laws and defending its own interests. You have chosen to cosy up tyrants and confront democracies. The time has come for us to stand up. Kneel as much as you want in front of Putin, we are the free world now.
“We are not a colony of the United States. We are Europeans, we must defend our laws, our principles, our interests. This scandalous sanction against Thierry Breton pays tribute to his fight for our sovereignty. We will continue it together. To the end.”
The row is the latest to showcase tensions between the US and Europe. In August, Washington imposed sanctions on the French judge Nicolas Yann Guillou, who sits on the international criminal court, for the tribunal’s targeting of Israeli leaders and a past decision to investigate US officials.
Michel Duclos, a former senior French diplomat and resident senior fellow in geopolitics and diplomacy at the Institut Montaigne thinktank lamented the move, referencing Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev’s recent trip to Miami for talks on the Ukraine war. He said: “Dmitriev celebrated in Miami, Breton denied US visa: Europe is becoming the new Russia for Washington. It brings to mind the 1920s – America favouring the former enemy [Germany) against its former allies – but worse.”
The chair of the German Journalists’ Association, Mika Beuster, expressed, solidarity with the Berlin-based HateAid. “This is censorship in its purest form, the likes of which we have previously only known from autocratic regimes,” said Beuster.

US bans former EU Commissioner and others over social media rules

The Trump administration has issued travel bans that prohibit five European tech researchers, including one former EU Commissioner, from entering the United States.
The Trump administration has issued travel bans that prohibit five European tech researchers, including one former EU Commissioner, from entering the United States. “For far too long, ideologues in Europe have led organized efforts to coerce American platforms to punish American viewpoints they oppose. The Trump Administration will no longer tolerate these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship,” said US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
That official is Thierry Breton, the former European Commissioner for Internal Markets and Digital Services, who Sarah Rogers called the “mastermind” of the Digital Services Act. Rogers, the Under Secretary of State, said Breton threatened Elon Musk about ongoing formal proceedings for X’s noncompliance with “illegal content” and “disinformation” under the DSA just before his meeting with President Trump. The administration has also banned Imran Ahmed from the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), who apparently called for American anti-vaxxers to be deplatformed. One of those people is Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who’s now the US Secretary of Health.
Clare Melford from the UK-based Global Disinformation Index has also been banned. Her group monitors online platforms for hate speech. Anna-Lena von Hodenberg and Josephine Ballon from German organization HateAid, have been banned, as well. HateAid flags hate speech online for the EU under DSA rules.
As The New York Times notes, these travel bans emphasize the administration’s close relationship with internet and tech companies, which would benefit from having DSA rules loosened or abolished. The Global Disinformation Index called the travel bans “an authoritarian attack on free speech and an egregious act of government censorship.” Meanwhile, von Hodenberg and Ballon said the bans mark a new escalation. “The US government is clearly questioning European sovereignty,” they said.

Secularized America Needs A Charlie Brown Christmas Now More Than Ever

0

As ‚A Charlie Brown Christmas‘ celebrates its 60th anniversary, fewer people than ever understand the meaning of the holiday.
As A Charlie Brown Christmas celebrates its 60th anniversary, the increasing secularization of American society means fewer people than ever understand the meaning of the holiday.
“Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about???”
That question, asked by a young child, defined a television program three score years ago that has become a landmark of American popular culture. But as A Charlie Brown Christmas celebrates its 60th anniversary — the show premiered on CBS on Dec. 9, 1965 — the increasing secularization of American society means fewer people than ever truly understand the meaning of Christmas.Holiday Classic
For an animated work that almost didn’t get made and featured numerous technical flaws due to its shoestring budget, A Charlie Brown Christmas became an instant holiday classic, not to mention an Emmy and Peabody Award winner. The script’s humorous asides (Christmas is “run by a big eastern syndicate”) and quirky characters — Lucy’s stand offering psychiatric help for 5 cents, Snoopy entering a holiday light contest — have endeared themselves to generations of Americans. The smooth jazz stylings of Vince Guaraldi’s “Christmas Time Is Here” complete the warm holiday vibe and have become legendary in their own right.
But the heart of the show, and Peanuts creator Charles Schulz’s prime motivation for doing the special, lay in its dramatic recitation of the Gospel of Luke. When Charlie Brown (voiced by Peter Robbins), upon receiving derision for his puny Christmas tree and after seeing myriad signs of holiday commercialization around him, asks for the true meaning of Christmas, Linus Van Pelt (voiced by Christopher Shea) rings forth like a bell in the night, recounting the annunciation of the Nativity to the shepherds:
“That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.”Drop in Religiosity
But for millions of Americans, Linus’ words no longer ring true. Gallup recently reported a “17-point drop in the percentage of U.S. adults who say religion is an important part of their daily life,” from roughly two-thirds (66 percent) in 2015 to just under half (49 percent) today. That decline “ranks among the largest Gallup has recorded in any country over any 10-year period since 2007.”
The trend comes after Covid-era lockdowns made church inaccessible to many Americans for portions of the pandemic, changing attendance habits that in some cases have persisted in the years since. Gallup also noted that levels of American religiosity have grown closer to more secularized OECD countries than the global median for all nations.
It also came as A Charlie Brown Christmas itself disappeared from the television airwaves. In late 2020, Apple TV acquired the rights to Peanuts media for its streaming platform. Public criticism of Apple’s rights purchase led to A Charlie Brown Christmas airing on most PBS stations in 2020 and 2021. But since 2022, the special has not aired on broadcast television after 56 straight years on CBS (which commissioned the special), ABC, and then PBS.The Reason for the Season
Of course, the special’s move to Apple TV had much more to do with the economics of streaming and the desire of streaming services to acquire “must-watch” content than any religious sentiment. But taking the clear and unmistakable message of A Charlie Brown Christmas off the network airwaves reflects, and at the margins could increase, the removal of religion from the center of American life.
A popular phrase in some Christian communities at Christmastime recalls that “Jesus is the reason for the season.” In its entertaining, heartwarming way, A Charlie Brown Christmas delivered that same message to tens of millions of Americans each Yuletide. Its removal from network television leaves that landscape and American culture poorer by its absence.
A Charlie Brown Christmas is available via streaming on Apple TV+. Non-subscribers can find the film on DVD.

Münzproduktion im Euroraum steigt durch Bulgarien-Beitritt

Der Club der Euroländer bekommt ein 21. Mitglied.
Die meisten Geldstücke will 2026 wieder Deutschland produzieren.

Samsung Wide Fold vs iPhone Fold: New renders show the battle for the perfect aspect ratio

0

New renders compare the Samsung Wide Fold to the Apple iPhone Fold. Here’s how both companies will approach this new foldable aspect ratio.
Samsung and Apple are reportedly working on “wide” foldables with 4:3 aspect ratios on the inner display, moving away from taller cover display designs.
Both devices are expected to feature similarly sized interior displays with near identical shapes, distinguished only by sharper corners on the Samsung model versus rounder ones on Apple’s iteration.
Both the Samsung Wide Fold and the foldable iPhone are expected to debut in the fall of 2026, competing head-to-head.
Samsung has long been rumored to be working on a wide-screen foldable, potentially as a preemptive response to Apple’s upcoming iPhone Fold. Since Apple is reportedly adopting a wider cover display, even Samsung plans to join the fray, despite pioneering taller cover displays with the Galaxy Z Fold lineup. If you’re wondering how the two upcoming foldables would pan out and compete, we now have new renders that showcase more of what to expect from Samsung and Apple’s wide-screen foldables.
Don’t want to miss the best from Android Authority?
On Weibo, leaker Ice Universe has shared AI-generated renders of the Samsung Wide Fold and the iPhone Fold, based on leaked dimensions. These renders are admittedly AI-generated, but they give us a decent idea of how both the foldables would be shaped:
Ice Universe is reiterating previously leaked specifications, though there’s some variance from the latest leaked iPhone Fold schematics. The Samsung Wide Fold is expected to feature a 5.4-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch internal display, whereas the iPhone Fold is anticipated to have a 5.35-inch cover display and a 7.58-inch internal display. The internal display on both foldables is expected to be a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The leaker notes that the design of the phones is almost identical, with the primary difference being their R-angle. Samsung seems to be opting for sharper, almost squared-off corners, while Apple appears to be leaning towards softer, rounder corners. Apple’s approach may be easier to hold as the corners won’t dig into your palm, but Samsung’s approach looks more uniform when folded, as the hinge-side corners are practically guaranteed to be sharp and square.
Since these are AI-generated renders, they merely represent the shape and overall dimensions of the foldables, and aren’t meant to represent the final retail look of either foldable.
Leaker FrontPageTech has shared several renders of the iPhone Fold, but they appear to be based on the leaked schematics from earlier in the week, so they feature different measurements than those used by Ice Universe.
FrontPageTech mentions that the iPhone Fold is expected to be available in only Black and White color options, and the internal display will not have its crease visible.
However, leaker Max Jambor mentions that the iPhone Fold does have a visible crease, it’s just that it is less visible than current foldables.
Samsung is expected to launch the Wide Fold in the fall of 2026, around the same time as Apple’s foldable iPhone, which is also rumored to debut alongside the regular iPhone 18 lineup. It remains to be seen how consumers react to these wide foldables — will they be able to convince users to ditch their regular phones, or will they be destined for a redesign like the wide-cover-display first-gen Google Pixel Fold, or will they underwhelm in sales, as the iPhone Air and the Galaxy S25 Edge did? 2026 couldn’t come sooner.
