The tag-fighter will arrive in early October.
After years of fighting fans wondering and pleading for a new tag-fighter, the immediate future will see a bunch of these games arriving. Arc System Works is developing Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, Quarter Up is delivering Invincible VS, and Riot Games is hard at work on 2XKO.
Speaking about the latter, we now know when people can begin playing it. Riot has revealed that as soon as October 7, the game will be debuting in an Early Access form on PC, wherein friends (or foes, it’s up to you really) can come together to compete in thrilling 2v2 fighting action.
Riot has revealed that with this Early Access launch coming up, it will coincide with the conclusion of the Closed Beta for the game that is ongoing, and that has introduced Vi and Blitzcrank as playable characters. This means that when the launch does happen, at least the following will be available as playable options, with a tenth character confirmed too but not yet revealed:

Ahri

Blitzcrank

Braum

Darius

Ekko

Illaoi

Jinx

Vi

Yasuo

???

Riot also promises that the Early Access edition of the game will feature a full season of content and some new elements like combo trials, and that the initial launch will allow the team to refine its battle pass and ranked systems, and further balance the game too. Looking at seasons, the debut one will run until 2026, and then we can expect five new seasons of content next year, each of which will add a new champion, a battle pass, reset ranked, and more.
Will you be checking out 2XKO in October?

UN expertes ask FIFA and UEFA to suspend Israel from international football competitions

0

„There is a legal and moral imperative to take every measure possible to end the genocide in Gaza now“.
A group of nine experts from the United Nations has sent an statement asking FIFA and UEFA, the governing bodies of football in the world and in Europe, to suspend Israel national team from international competitions, „as a necessary response to address the ongoing genocide in the occupied Palestinian territory“.
The experts refer to an study by the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory (including East Jerusalem and Israel) on September 16, that found that Israel is committing genocide, a study that adds to the growing number of international bodies that have been calling it a genocide. As such, sports „must not turn a blind eye to grave human rights violations, especially when their platforms are used to normalise injustices“.
They ask that countries that hold or engage in international competitions must suspend the Israeli team, because „there is a legal and moral imperative to take every measure possible to end the genocide in Gaza now“ and reminded that in the past other states that have committed massive human rights violations have been suspended.
The UN experts agree, however, that individual athletes and players should not be banned, as there should no be discrimination or sanctions against individuals because of their origin or nationality. „We have always maintained that individuals cannot bear the consequences of the decisions their government makes“.
You can read the full statement and the names of the signers of the statement (special rapporteurs on cultural rights, discrimination and the Palestine conflict, and the Working Group on human rights) here.

Maui officials sound emergency sirens, evacuate residents as wildfire threatens town

0

Officials on Maui have been evacuating residents from a wildfire and sounding emergency sirens
Officials on the Hawaiian island of Maui went door-to-door evacuating residents from a wildfire Tuesday and sounded emergency sirens.
The 4-acre (1.6-hectare) fire was first reported near the north shore town of Paia at 1:30 p.m., officials said. There were no containment estimates immediately available. There was no immediate information on what caused the fire.
“Leave immediately!” said one alert from Maui Emergency Management Agency. “There is a dangerous threat to life and property.”
Paia is a former sugar plantation town that has become popular with windsurfers. It is on the other side of the island from Lahaina, which was destroyed by a deadly wildfire in 2023.
Paia resident Rod Antone was trying to coordinate evacuation of his elderly parents. “It’s nerve-wracking,” he said. “Hopefully nothing happens to the neighborhood.”
Antone was working in a county building in Wailuku where he listened to radio updates but didn’t hear the sirens. In the hours before a wildfire engulfed the town of Lahaina in 2023, Maui County officials failed to activate sirens.
Antone noted that winds didn’t feel particularly strong Tuesday, unlike in August 2023 when wind-whipped flames burned Lahaina and left 102 people dead. But like Lahaina, Paia is surrounded by dry brush, he said.
The Maui Fire Department was using two helicopters to help fight the blaze. During the Lahaina fire, helicopters were grounded due to the strong winds.
The American Red Cross was setting up evacuation sites, the county said.
When traffic out of Paia started building, Wayne Thibaudeau decided to open a gate to give motorists an alternate evacuation route. Thibaudeau is one of the owners of Paia Sugar Mill, which closed in 2000 and is being renovated.
The route takes motorists through old sugarcane fields.
There was a steady stream of “cars packed with people” using the route, he said.
A report on the Lahaina fire said that some back roads that could have provided an alternative escape were blocked by locked gates.

Awans do ćwierćfinału dał mecz z Holandią.
Awans do ćwierćfinału dał mecz z Holandią.

W końcówce jednak inicjatywę przejęli Holendrzy i to oni mieli kilka piłek meczowych.

Turcy umiejętnie to wykorzystywali. Punktowali każdą słabość swoich rywali i wygrali dwukrotnie po 25:19. Odnieśli przekonujące zwycięstwo i już teraz osiągnęli najlepszy wynik w swojej historii.

To on był bohaterem meczu z Holandią
Adis Lagumdzija był największą gwiazdą meczu 1/8 finału Turcja-Holandia. Grał znakomicie i nie miał sobie równych w ataku, zdobył 25 punktów. Kolejne trzy dołożył blokiem i zagrywką. Mecz z Holandią skończył z dorobkiem 28. oczek, będąc absolutnym liderem ekipy znad Bosforu.

W grze wtórowali mu Ramazan Efe Mandiraci i Mirza Lagumdzija, którzy zdobyli kolejno 15 i 13 punktów.

Choć brakuje w niej gwiazd światowego formatu, to jednak całościowo drużyna gra znakomicie. Opiera się na żelaznym ustawieniu. W pierwszym składzie na mecz z Polakami powinni wyjść:

· Adis Lagumdzija,
· Ramazan Efe Mandiraci,
· Mirza Lagumdzija,
· Bedirhan Bulbul,
· Marko Matić,
· Murat Yenipazar,
· w roli libero Berkay Bayraktar.

Na Holendrów, Kanadyjczyków, Libijczyków i Japończyków to wystarczyło. Jak będzie w środowym starciu z Polską?

Polacy są faworytami. Mecz w Polsacie

Late-night show hosts are sending a message to Trump: They'll be thorns in his side for as long as they can be

0

The big boys of late-night are competitors, but they’re also friends. And despite Trump’s threats, they’ll back each other and keep the jokes coming.
The arena of late-night comedy is a cutthroat one, with warring timeslots and competing comedians jockeying for a slice of the viewership pie. But when one of their own is threatened, the pack rises to the occasion.
We saw that this week when „Jimmy Kimmel Live!“ got hit with a suspension from ABC following his comments on the killing of conservative podcaster Charlie Kirk. And that happened, too, when „The Late Show with Stephen Colbert“ was slated for cancellation.
For a hot minute this week, when ABC appeared to cave to pressure from Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr, President Donald Trump looked to be gaining ground in his war on late-night comedy. The president hasn’t been shy about how much talk-show hosts and comedians annoy him. He has called them talentless and urged their networks to fire them.
Yet they’re still here — for now — and they won’t shut up.Late-night is a unified front
Stewart, the long-time late-night great, approached the Kimmel issue head-on in two monologues in the last week. On Thursday’s episode of ‚The Daily Show“, he put on a satire-laden dedication to America’s „great leader“ Trump, blasting the administration’s stance on free speech.
And on Monday, Stewart went all-in with his commentary on Trump. In his monologue, he joked about the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, an ongoing PR nightmare for the Trump administration. Then he issued a rallying call for people to „fight like hell“ to defend „our constitutional republic“, a signal that the work is far from done regardless of Kimmel’s return.
On John Oliver’s Sunday episode of „Last Week Tonight“, he acknowledged that he isn’t bound to some of the limitations his fellow network-based comedians are because HBO airs his show. The British-born comedian took advantage of that freedom to deliver a half-hour-long dissection of the Kimmel chaos.
Kimmel is „by no means the first casualty in Trump’s attacks on free speech“, he said.
„He’s just the latest canary in the coal mine“, Oliver said. „A mine that at this point now seems more dead canary than coal.“
And, of course, there were laughs as well on Tuesday night.
The soon-to-be-canceled Colbert returned to regular programming during much of his monologue. He dedicated his airtime to ridiculing Trump’s performance at the UN General Assembly. Then he poked fun at the president’s pronunciation of the word „acetaminophen“ and called Trump’s claims about Tylenol and pregnancy „crazy.“
The joke train kept rolling over at „The Daily Show“, where Stewart’s colleague, Jordan Klepper, made more jokes about Trump’s joint press conference with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
As for Kimmel, his triumphant return to late-night came with its share of emotional moments. He clarified that he never meant to make light of Kirk’s death. He also sent love to Kirk’s family, as he had in a social media post that pre-dated the fracas.
Then he pivoted and threw punch after punch at Trump and Carr.
„This show is not important. What is important is that we get to live in a country that allows us to have a show like this“, Kimmel said.
Kimmel added, too, that he was lucky to live in a country where freedom of speech is a constitutional right.
„And that’s something I’m embarrassed to say I took for granted until they pulled my friend Stephen off the air and tried to coerce the affiliates who run our show in the cities that you live in to take my show off the air“, Kimmel said.
„That’s not legal. That’s not American. That is un-American, and it is so dangerous“, he said. „I want you to think about this. Should the government be allowed to regulate which podcasts the cellphone companies and WiFi providers are allowed to let you download to make sure they serve the public interest? You think that sounds crazy?“
In Kimmel’s monologue, he also called Carr an embarrassment and said the FCC head’s statements about his show were „a direct violation of the First Amendment.“
It’s safe to say that late-night isn’t done talking. And with the battle lines drawn, it’s unclear how Disney and other networks with vocal hosts plan to navigate this ongoing dogfight.
Trump has sounded a warning. Before Tuesday night’s shows aired, he wondered on Truth Social if he could reap another multimillion-dollar bounty by suing ABC.
„I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do“, Trump wrote.

Mumbai: Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty fell in early trade on Wednesday as foreign fund outflows and concerns over the steep hike in US H-1B visa fees continue to dent investors’ sentiment.
The 30-share BSE Sensex dropped 380.48 points to 81,721.62 in early trade. The 50-share NSE Nifty declined 106.45 points to 25,063.05.

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 3,551.19 crore on Tuesday, according to exchange data.
“Now a concern in the market globally is the high asset prices. Prices of assets be it stocks, gold, silver, bit coins are high. This concern was articulated by the Fed chief Jerome Powell yesterday in his speech at Rhode Island. Powell reiterated the risks to inflation and employment, too, signalling that the Fed policy, going forward, will be challenging,” VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Investments Limited, said.
In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi and Japan’s Nikkei 225 index quoted lower while Shanghai’s SSE Composite index and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng traded in positive territory.
US markets ended lower on Tuesday.
“On Dalal Street, sentiment remains under pressure as investors grapple with Trump’s 50 per cent tariff hike on India and his steep USD 1,00,000 one-time H-1B visa fee, which disproportionately impacts Indian professionals,” Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities Ltd, said.
