W wystąpieniu na konferencji w Orvieto w środkowych Włoszech Tajani stwierdził następnie, że referendum jest także działaniem „przeciwko konstytucji Hiszpanii“. „A zatem jest niezgodne z prawem“ – ocenił.
„Żadne państwo nie może zaakceptować secesji jego części“ – powiedział szef PE. Wyraził przekonanie, że „po poniedziałku trzeba znaleźć porozumienie“.
„Nie sądzę, aby Hiszpania była dyktatorskim reżimem, w którym trzeba zbuntować się, domagając się wolności. To nie są Niemcy lat 30. ani Związek Radziecki“ – zauważył Antonio Tajani w wystąpieniu na forum politycznym organizowanym przez ośrodek imienia Aldo Moro.
Włoski polityk odniósł się też do kwestii kryzysu migracyjnego i relokacji uchodźców.
Wyznał, że jest mu przykro, gdy widzi, że gestów solidarności odmawiają teraz „państwa wschodu Europy, które same otrzymały tyle solidarności, gdy musiały wyzwolić się spod jarzma komunistycznej dyktatury“.
Tajani podkreślił: od krajów tych nie oczekuje się „nadzwyczajnego poświęcenia“.
„Prosimy tylko, aby przyjęły kilka tysięcy uchodźców, nie – miliony osób“ – dodał przewodniczący Parlamentu Europejskiego.

National Arab Orchestra to dazzle at season opener

Tickets can still be purchased for the orchestra’s best showcase yet in „A Night of Tarab.“
Michael Ibrahim, who founded the Detroit-based orchestra in 2009, said the orchestra has traveled around the country during their concert series to Miami, Texas, Toledo, Washington D. C., Atlanta and Jacksonville, Fla.
Their 8th annual showcase „A Night of Tarab“ includes vocalists Usama Baalbaki, Ghada Derbas and Abdallah Moussa and is directed by Ibrahim. Tarab is an Arabic word describing music’s emotional effect and is associated with traditional artistic and musical forms.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., in Dearborn on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online at dearborntheater.com .
The showcase includes 40 people in the full orchestra and community choir composed of adults and children from Fordson High School chorus. The orchestra members are selected by audition.
„This year, people can expect to see the orchestra at its best performance yet. We also have a surprise hip-hop fusion piece I don’t think people will expect,“ said Ibrahim, 33, of Sterling Heights
He said he started the orchestra because he found it difficult to learn music while growing up.
„While playing, I was able to connect with my culture and I eventually found my cultural identity,“ said Ibrahim. „I didn’t get it through school or Mosque, but music.“
Ibrahim, who was born in Michigan and whose family is from Syria, graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a music performance degree and received his Masters in Conducting from Wayne State University.
He said he chose to continue playing cultural Arabic music because it is „absolutely, beautiful and needs to be preserved.“
Eight years later, he said the orchestra is really starting to take off.
„In terms of educational programming and the concert series, there’s a lot we have on the table this year,“ Ibrahim said. „I hope people come out and enjoy the event.“

BEIJING: Washington has opened channels to North Korea to find out if the regime is ready to talk about giving up its nuclear weapons, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Saturday (Sep 30).
His office in Washington quickly clarified that North Korea has shown no interest in such discussions.
Speaking after a day of talks with China’s President Xi Jinping and top diplomats, Tillerson told reporters that US officials are in touch with Pyongyang.
The disclosure follows an escalating war of words between US President Donald Trump and North Korean strongman Kim Jong-Un, and Tillerson issued a call for calm.
Asked how he could know whether the North would even contemplate responding to new sanctions by coming to the table, the US envoy said: „We are probing, so stay tuned.“
Washington has no diplomatic ties with Kim’s autocratic regime, and has been leaning on Beijing to rein in its neighbour’s behaviour through tougher sanctions.
But Tillerson said US diplomats do not rely on China as a go-between in overtures to North Korea, and have themselves talked directly through „our own channels“.
„We ask,“ he said. „We have lines of communication with Pyongyang. We’re not in a dark situation, a blackout, we have a couple, three channels open to Pyongyang.“
„We can talk to them, we do talk to them,“ he said.
In Washington, the State Department said that while such communications channels do exist North Korea has shown no interest in talking about giving up its nuclear weapons.
„Despite assurances that the United States is not interested in promoting the collapse of the current regime, pursuing regime change, accelerating reunification of the peninsula or mobilising forces north of the DMZ, North Korean officials have shown no indication that they are interested in or are ready for talks regarding denuclearisation,“ department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement.
The US has not ruled out the use of force to compel Pyongyang to halt missile and nuclear tests, and last week Trump threatened to „totally destroy“ the country.
But privately senior figures admit the military options do not look promising, with ally South Korea’s densely populated capital Seoul in range of the North’s artillery.
ROCKET MAN
Tillerson, meanwhile, has been a proponent of a campaign of „peaceful pressure“, using US and UN sanctions and working with China to turn the screw on the regime.
But his efforts have been overshadowed by an extraordinary war of words, with Trump mocking Kim as „little Rocket Man“ and Kim branding the US leader a „dotard“.
Even as Tillerson met Xi and China’s top diplomats State Councillor Yang Jiechi and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the North’s propaganda agency fired a new barrage of insults.
The statement proclaimed Trump an „old psychopath“ bent on the „suicidal act of inviting a nuclear disaster that will reduce America to a sea of flames“.
North Korea’s rhetoric has been backed by a provocative series of ballistic missile tests and on Sep 3 it conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test yet.
Washington, backed by most of the international community, has declared North Korea’s programme unacceptable, fearing that its own vast arsenal will not deter Kim from attack.
With the world on edge, fears are growing that a miscalculation from either side could trigger a renewed deadly conflict on the divided Korean peninsula.
Some recent tests saw North Korean missiles flying over Japan en route to the Pacific, and its latest underground detonation seems to have been of a powerful hydrogen bomb.
Observers have expressed concern that if the North carries out an atmospheric nuclear test over the ocean, Washington will feel obliged to take risky military action.
HEATED RHETORIC
But Tillerson said that decision would be up to Trump alone and that „as far as I know the commander in chief has issued no red lines.“
Tillerson instead called for calm, singling out Pyongyang’s missile tests for criticism.
„The whole situation is a bit overheated right now. I think everyone would like for it to calm down,“ he said in response to a question about Trump’s threats.
„I think if North Korea would stop firing all the missiles, that would calm down things a lot,“ he said.
Tillerson, who was in Beijing to plan for a summit that Xi will host for Trump in November, welcomed recent measures taken by China to crack down on its neighbour.
US leaders criticised Beijing for taking too soft a line with Pyongyang, but in recent weeks China has taken more drastic measures to cut off trade and finance.
And in public, at least, the Chinese officials were all smiles for their guest.
Xi touted what he said was his „good working relationship and personal friendship“ with Trump and predicted that the summit “ will be a special, wonderful and successful one „.

The xx thrill fans with a slow-burning, ultimately rewarding show at the Forum on Friday – Orange County Register

The British trio delivered a strong set of songs from all three of its albums in its Forum debut on Friday.
A confession: When the Forum seemed just a bit more than half full 30 minutes before the xx was to take the stage on Friday I started to wonder whether the moody bloom was off the melancholy rose of the British trio for at least the casual fans who’d embraced its shadowy and emotional electronic rock in recent years.
Yes, they’d been terrific at Coachella’s main stage in April, and OK, they’d sold out the Hollywood Bowl just four years ago, but as showtime loomed closer it started to feel like the Shins across town at the half-as-big Greek Theatre might have a more-packed house on Friday.
Then the fans flooded in — apparently drinks on the terrace was a bigger draw than a fine set by opener Perfume Genius. And while the venue probably maxed out around three-quarters full, the enthusiasm of the audience, most of which seemed to be intimately familiar with songs from the self-titled debut, its follow-up “Coexist,” and this year’s “I See You,” created a bigger sense of excitement than many a sold-out Forum show I’ve covered in the past.
It surely thrilled the three members of the xx — singer-guitarist Romy Madley Croft, singer-bassist Oliver Sim, and beats-electronics-and-keyboard player Jamie Smith, best known by his stage name of Jamie xx.
“Like Oliver said, we’ve been looking forward to this gig for a very long time,” Croft said just after “On Hold,” the first of two songs in the band’s encore. “And we were reeeally nervous. But from the moment we walked on stage you’ve been so welcoming.”
That might be about as effusive as the typically stoic members of the xx ever get on stage, but they had reason to be happy, for in the 18 songs scattered over the 70 minutes that preceded Croft’s comments, the xx had delivered a lovely and moving night of music.
The show opened with “Intro,” an instrumental from the first record that immediately captures much of what the xx does best — loping single-string guitar and bass melodies from Croft and Sim that float above the electronics whipped up by Smith. “Crystalised,” which followed, layered in the band’s other key element, the dual vocals of the two singers who more often than not trade off verses before coming together on the choruses.
There’s a tightness in this band that’s always been there, and I use “always there” almost literally: Croft and Sim met as 3-year-olds in nursery school; Smith is the newcomer, not meeting the other two until they were 11-year-olds.
The first time I saw them — at Coachella in 2010 — they seemed musically strong but performance-wise shy, perhaps chalk that up to being only 20 or 21 at the time. But at the Forum on Friday, as at Coachella earlier this year, there was a confidence that might be called genteel British swagger, a sense of feeling strong on stage as early in the set they performed all three of the xx’s 2017 singles — “Say Something Loving,” “Dangerous,” and “I Dare You” — and basked politely in the applause and cheers that followed.
And Croft’s solo turn on “Performance,” just her and her guitar, would have been a stretch to imagine her doing in 2010 but this year feels natural and impressive, no real sign of the nerves to which she confessed before soloing for one of the first times perhaps at Coachella just five months earlier.
The production revealed its pleasures in the same subtle way that many of the xx’s songs can do. From muted lights above, around and below — the floor itself lit up at times — things slowly became more intricate, with tall panels of rippled mirrors slowly turning at times to reflect the lights and views of the musicians.
By the end of the show, when the glow of vibrant rainbows seemed to float from the stage over the front of the crowd on a few slow songs such as “Shelter,” or lasers beamed into the darkness on the more dance-oriented tunes such as the Jamie xx track “Loud Places,” it all felt sophisticated and fun.
All of that built to the final song of the encore, “Angels,” on which Croft and Sim sat back to let the crowd pick up parts of the lyrics, an echoing chorale, before everyone — band and fans, in a house that felt full — sang the number, and the show, to its warm conclusion.

Borussia Dortmund festigte mit dem 2:1 (2:1) beim FC Augsburg seine Tabellenführung. Trainer Peter Bosz hatte aber einiges auszusetzen.
Die Fans sangen bereits von der Meisterschaft, aber Borussia Dortmunds Coach Peter Bosz stellte seiner Mannschaft ein ganz miserables Zeugnis aus. „Ich bin kein Sänger, ich bin Trainer. Und das war das schlechteste Spiel, seitdem ich hier bin“, sagte der Niederländer unumwunden trotz des 2:1 (2:1) beim FC Augsburg. Aufgebracht war Bosz aber keineswegs, denn er wusste auch: „Normalerweise verlierst du solche Spiele.“
Der BVB aber war erfolgreich, geht als Tabellenführer in die Ligapause bis Mitte Oktober und fühlte sich deshalb mit Blick auf das Titelrennen ziemlich gut gerüstet. „Letzte Saison haben wir solche Spiele nie gewonnen“, sagte Kapitän Sokratis. Heißt, Dortmund könnte, Dortmund will dem derzeit nach Stabilität suchenden FC Bayern diesmal ernsthaft die Stirn bieten. „Wir hoffen, nach jedem Spieltag Erster zu sein“, ergänzte Sokratis.
Selbst wenn es keine große Kampfansage an den Fußball-Rekordmeister war, es zeugt vom gewachsenen Glauben an die eigene Stärke. Nach sechs zumeist überzeugenden Siegen in sieben Ligaspielen ist falsche Bescheidenheit auch nicht nötig. „Wir sind im Moment sehr gut aufgestellt“, unterstrich Gonzalo Castro: „Aber das heißt noch lange nix.“
Trainer Bosz sah das ganz ähnlich, und sich an den Münchnern zu orientieren, hält der 53-Jährige ohnehin für Zeitverschwendung. „Ich gucke nicht jeden Tag auf die Tabelle, das bringt uns keine Punkte“, sagte er. Bosz konzentriert sich auf die Problemfelder seines Teams, da sah er bei den mutigen Augsburgern genügend kritische Ansätze.
Den Auftritt von Torjäger Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang etwa, der im ersten Abschnitt nach einem Alleingang leichtfertig vergab und nach dem Wechsel den Ball bei einem Foulfmeter mit einem arroganten Lupfer in die Arme von FCA-Keeper Marwin Hitz bugsierte. „Auba macht vielleicht zwei solche Spiele pro Jahr“, sagte Bosz milde, der trotz einiger Fehlversuche an Aubameyang als Elfmeterschütze festhalten wird. „Auba hat uns schon so oft den Arsch gerettet“, meinte auch Castro.
Länger dürfte Bosz beschäftigen, dass sein Team wie bei der Schlappe gegen Real Madrid (1:3) eine fahrige Leistung in der Defensive ablieferte, dass trotz – wie er fand – ausreichender Regeneration am Ende von vier englischen Wochen die Frische fehlte. Der Coach hatte daher seine Zweifel, „dass wir das durchziehen können. Wir haben Glück gehabt“.
Letztlich reichten aber das Absatztor von Andrej Jarmolenko (4.) und der geniale Lupfer von Shinji Kagawa (23.), weil den Schwaben nur der Treffer von Caiuby (11.) gelang. Sportdirektor Michael Zorc lobte, dass der BVB in einer Phase, als spielerisch nichts mehr zusammenlief, zumindest leidenschaftlich um das Ergebnis kämpfte. „Die Mannschaft hat sich fast festgekrallt an den drei Punkten“, urteilte er.
Augsburg hätte nach einem couragierten Auftritt wenigstens einen dieser drei Zähler gerne genommen, „deshalb ärgern wir uns richtig“, sagte Trainer Manuel Baum. Wenn allerdings die Enttäuschung abnimmt, wird viel Positives zurückbleiben – so frustrierend die erste Niederlage seit dem Saisonauftakt beim Hamburger SV auch war: „In der zweiten Halbzeit haben wir gesehen, wie es auch gegen Spitzenteams geht.“

Celebrities including John Legend, Chris Evans and Lin-Manuel Miranda are slamming Donald Trump after he criticized San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz for “poor leadership” after the Puerto Rican politician said she was upset and frustrated at how the government has handled hurricane relief efforts.
Elaine Duke, who is the acting head of Homeland Security, said on Thursday, September 28, that she was “very satisfied” with the government’s response to helping Puerto Rico recover from Hurricane Maria, saying,“I know it is really a good news story in terms of our ability to reach people and the limited number of deaths that have taken place in such a devastating hurricane.”
That statement infuriated the mayor of San Juan and prompted her to respond to what she called “an irresponsible statement” saying, “This is, dammit, this is not ‘a good news story.’ This is a ‘people are dying’ story. This is a ‘life or death’ story. This is ‘there’s a truckload of stuff that cannot be taken to people’ story. This is a story of a devastation that continues to worsen.”
Trump responded to Mayor Cruz’s statements on Saturday, September 30, by tweeting, “The Mayor of San Juan, who was very complimentary only a few days ago, has now been told by the Democrats that you must be nasty to Trump.… Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan, and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help. They…….want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort.”
His words sparked outrage among politicians, celebrities and others, who took to social media on Saturday to respond to the former reality star’s comments.
Captain America star Evans responded to Trump’s comments by writing a list, “A Trump Thread In A Time Of Crisis: -Narcissistic, -Defensive, -Insulting, -Multiple references to himself in the third person” with checkmark emojis next to each category.
Singer Legend tweeted, “Trump continues to dominate the shittiest president ever competition” while Lady Gaga wrote, “I this it’s clear where the ‚poor leadership‘ lies @realDonaldTrump Puerto Rico is part of the United States. This is our responsibility.”
Cher also shared her sentiments, writing, “Trump attacks San Juan mayor. HES NEVER KNOWN HUNGER, THIRST, DIRT, NO PHONE, OR WATCH A SICK CHILD DIE 4 LACK Of MEDS.”
Miranda, who is of Puerto Rican descent, expressed his disgust: “You’re going straight to hell, @realDonaldTrump. No long lines for you. Someone will say, ‘Right this way, sir.’ They’ll clear a path.” The Hamilton creator also defended Cruz: “She has been working 24/7. You have been GOLFING. You’re going straight to hell. Fastest golf cart you ever took.”
Mia Farrow tweeted, “The President is attacking people who are without drinkable water, food, power Trump is unfit to lead.”
As previously reported, Puerto Rico has been crippled after hurricanes Irma and Maria ripped through the island. Maria was a Category 4 storm that caused severe flooding, damaged buildings and left the U. S. territory with no power. At least 10 people have been confirmed dead and at least three hospitals are without much-needed supplies and running water. The damage is estimated to be in the billions of dollars and it could take several months to reconnect power and essential services to the island. The devastation to Puerto Rico has prompted many celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez and Stephen Colbert, to donate money to help relief efforts.
Trump has since tweeted that he will be visiting Puerto Rico on Tuesday, October 2, with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump .
Cruz appeared to respond to Trump’s comments on Saturday when she tweeted in both English and Spanish, „The goal is one: saving lives. This is the time to show our ‚true colors‘. We cannot be distracted by anything else.“

(SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico,) – U. S. President Donald Trump blamed Puerto Ricans on Saturday for failing to do enough to dig out from damage caused by Hurricane Maria, saying criticism leveled at his government for the slow response was driven by politics.
Ten days after the devastating storm wiped out power and communications systems, more than half of the 3.4 million people who live on the island do not have access to drinking water, and 95 percent remain without power, the Pentagon said.
Trump, who was spending the weekend at his private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, fired off a series of angry tweets early on Saturday complaining that media coverage of the suffering was unfair, and took aim at the mayor of San Juan, the island’s largest city.
On Friday, Carmen Yulin Cruz criticized Trump’s Republican administration and begged for more help, pleas that received widespread television coverage in the mainland United States.
„Such poor leadership by the Mayor of San Juan and others in Puerto Rico who are not able to get their workers to help,“ said Trump, who is slated to visit the island on Tuesday. „They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort.“
Maria, the most powerful storm to strike Puerto Rico in nearly 90 years, has destroyed roads, making it difficult to get food, water and fuel around the island. The hurricane has killed at least 16 people, according to the official death toll.
Cruz, who has been living in a shelter after her home was destroyed in the hurricane, said municipal employees were working as hard as they could. She also said her complaints had resulted in more food and water being provided.
„Actually, I was asking for help – I wasn’t saying anything nasty about the president,“ Cruz said on MSNBC. „I am not going to be distracted by small comments, by politics, by petty issues.“
Trump’s comments drew swift condemnation on the mainland.
„The tweets this morning are despicable, are deplorable, are not statesman-like at all,“ said New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, a Democrat born in Puerto Rico.
„He needs to be in charge, he needs to take control, he needs to demonstrate some level of empathy over what is happening,“ Mark-Viverito said on CNN.
Trump was scheduled to speak by telephone to the governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rossello, and other officials from the region on Saturday. U. S. Vice President Mike Pence visited the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s headquarters in Washington for a briefing.
At a news conference, Rossello declined to comment on Trump’s tweets, which he said he had not seen.
„Let me stress this: I am committed to collaborating with everybody,“ he said. „This is a point where we can’t look at small differences and establish differences based on politics.“
The Trump administration has given Puerto Rico’s government „whatever we ask for“ in the immediate aftermath of the hurricane, Rossello said. But he warned that the U. S. Congress would need to help rebuild the island, which is home to 3.4 million Americans.
„If Congress doesn’t take action with a significant package, then we are looking at a possible humanitarian crisis,“ he said. “What are the effects of falling into that predicament? Massive exodus without a doubt.“
The insurance industry has begun to tally the mounting costs of Maria, with one modeling company estimating that claims could total as much as $85 billion. Puerto Rico has incurred most of the damage.
Police officers, firefighters and National Guardsmen loaned by other states were beginning to arrive to help local officials, Rossello said.
The U. S. business community was rallying to donate cash, with more than $24 million donated to relief charities as of Friday, said Marc DeCourcey of the U. S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
San Juan resident Judith Berkan said power shortages and long lines for cash, food, gasoline, and medical clinics were wearing people down.
„Things don’t seem to be getting better,“ Berkan, a lawyer, said in a text message.
„Although there are great moments of solidarity on the ground here, you can also see that patience is growing thin.“

– Air France potwierdza, że załoga samolotu Airbus A380 wykonującego lot AF066 z lotniska Paris-Charles-de Gaulle do Los Angeles zdecydowała się na zmianę kierunku na lotnisko wojskowe w Goose Bay (w Kanadzie) w następstwie poważnego uszkodzenia jednego z czterech silników – podał w komunikacie przewoźnik.
Maszyna wylądowała bezpiecznie o godzinie 12.42 czasu lokalnego. Żadnej z 520 osób, które przebywały na pokładzie, nic się nie stało.
Nie poinformowano, co było przyczyną awarii.

Borussia Dortmund hat seine Spitzenposition in der Fußball-Bundesliga gefestigt. Vier Tage nach der 1:3-Niederlage in der Champions League gegen Real Madrid siegte der BVB beim in dieser Saison überraschend starken FC Augsburg 2:1 (2:1).
Beim Wiedersehen mit seinem alten Club FSV Mainz 05 kam Martin Schmidt mit dem VfL Wolfsburg nicht über ein 1:1 (0:0) hinaus. Eintracht Frankfurt gewann in Unterzahl durch ein spätes Tor 2:1 (1:0) gegen den VfB Stuttgart. Borussia Mönchengladbach bezwang Hannover 96 ebenfalls 2:1 (0:0). In allen vier Nachmittagsspielen wurde der Videobeweis eingesetzt und half den Schiedsrichtern, die richtigen Entscheidungen zu treffen. Am Abend trennten sich der Hamburger SV und Werder Bremen im Nordderby 0:0.
Der BVB erwischte in Augsburg einen Traumstart. Andrej Jarmolenko brachte den Revierclub bereits in der vierten Minute mit der Hacke in Führung. Caiuby schlug allerdings für die Gastgeber zurück und traf sieben Minuten später per Kopf zum Ausgleich. In einer sehr unterhaltsamen Partie erzielte Shinji Kagawa mit einem gefühlvoll gechippten Ball das 2:1 für Dortmund (23.).
Vor der Pause verpassten Kagawa und Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang mit guten Torchancen den dritten Dortmunder Treffer. Aubameyang vergab später auch noch einen Foulelfmeter (79.) leichtfertig, als er den Ball zentral in die Hände von FCA-Torwart Marwin Hitz lupfte. Der BVB ist in der Liga saisonübergreifend seit 13 Spielen ungeschlagen.
In der Saison noch ohne Sieg bleibt dagegen Bremen. Das Team von Trainer Alexander Nouri erspielte sich im Topspiel am Abend in Hamburg nur wenige Chancen und steckt weiter im Tabellenkeller fest. Genau wie der HSV, der einen Platz vor Werder auf Rang 15 rangiert. Hamburg holte nach zuletzt vier Niederlagen in Serie zumindest mal wieder einen Punkt, erzielte allerdings zum fünften Mal hintereinander kein Tor.
Stuttgart kassierte die vierte Niederlage im vierten Auswärtsspiel. Die Schwaben gerieten durch Ante Rebic drei Minuten vor der Pause in Rückstand. Nur wenige Sekunden nach seiner Einwechslung glich Simon Terodde aus (61.). Der Frankfurter Simon Falette sah für eine Notbremse wenig später die Rote Karte (65.). In Unterzahl wurde Sebastien Haller zum Eintracht-Matchwinner: Der Stürmer erzielte in der dritten Minute der Nachspielzeit per Seitfallzieher das 2:1.
In Wolfsburg gelang Coach Schmidt in seiner dritten Partie für die Wölfe wieder kein Sieg. Gut eine Woche nach dem achtbaren 2:2 bei Bayern München traf Josuha Guilavogui zehn Minuten nach der Pause zum 1:0 für die Gastgeber. Yoshinori Muto glich mit einem gut platzierten Kopfball aus (64.). Kurz vor Schluss musste Paul-Georges Ntep mit Gelb-Rot vom Platz (90.+2).
Aufsteiger Hannover 96 musste die erste Saisonniederlage hinnehmen. Matthias Ginter schoss die Gladbacher nach einem Freistoß aus kurzer Distanz in Front (67.). Der knappe Vorsprung hielt nicht lange: Nur vier Minuten nach dem Treffer des Weltmeisters glich Martin Harnik für das Team von Trainer André Breitenreiter aus. In der vierten Minute der Nachspielzeit traf Thorgan Hazard per Foulelfmeter zum vielumjubelten 2:1. Die Partie hatte zehn Minuten später begonnen, weil der Mannschaftsbus von Hannover im Stau gesteckt hatte.
