A deadly blast rocked a kindergarten in eastern China Thursday, Chinese state media reports.
An explosion occurred at a school in Feng County, Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province at around 4: 50 p.m. Thursday, killing at least seven and injuring around 60 others.
Authorities are investigating the incident.
Video and photos from the school show bloody victims, including children, laying on the ground outside the facility.
WATCH: WARNING, GRAPHIC
It is unclear at this time what caused the explosion or whether the blast was intentional. Kindergartens have been targets of tragic attacks by the deranged. A man knifed 11 children at a school in Pingxiang, Guangxi Province in January.
Attacks on children and schools are surprisingly common in China.
A man stabbed 10 Chinese children at a school in Hainan Province before taking his own life in February 2016. Two years earlier, a man stabbed three elementary school kids before jumping off a building, and in 2012, a man stabbed 23 children and an elderly woman in a village in Henan Province.
In one of the worst incidents, three serious attacks occurred in one month in 2010. In one incident, a man killed eight and wounded several others. In another, the attacker stabbed 31 people, including 28 young students. In the final attack, the man struck children with a hammer, causing severe injuries, before setting himself on fire.
