This week’s roundup contains new cases for the iPad Pro, plus headphones, Bluetooth speakers, and more. Read on!
This company says it is refreshing its series of NÜÜD cases with new models for iPad Pro 10.5-inch ($130 MSRP) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch ($170 MSRP) . They’ re rugged—the case can survive drops from four feet—and resistant to water, snow, and dirt. No precise word on when orders will be available, only that the cases are “coming soon.”
The Defender Series offers hearty protection for the new iPad Pro 10.5-inch ($89.95 MSRP) and iPad Pro 12.9-inch ($129.95 MSRP) . Like other Otterbox cases, it’s equipped with three layers of protection: A screen protector, a polycarbonate frame, and a rubberized bumper to cushion against shocks.
If you’ re looking for something a little more stylish, the Oxford Leather iPad Pro 10.5 Case ($129.95 MSRP) is “crafted from a single piece of American full-grain bridle leather, ” has a built-in Apple Pencil holder and an interior pocket for documents. It’s available in two colors—chestnut or whiskey—and ships the week of July 9.
This company is offering new iPad Pro versions of its Alcantara (£40/$50.70 MSRP) and Wool Felt (£27/$34.22 MSRP) covers. The former is made with suede and contains a cell foam interior to cushion against shocks; it’s available for shipping starting this week. The Wool Felt covers are made in Germany “using a centuries-old technique.”
O6 ($99 MSRP) is an eyes-free remote for your iPhone, letting you browse and listen to apps while you’ re on the go. (See this video for a demonstration.) The makers say: “We can’ t stop people from feeling the need to check their email and social media, but O6 does something that no other product can do—it allows them to do it without taking their eyes off the road.”
The Style-S Bluetooth speaker ($140 MSRP; same price on Amazon) is “waterproof and rugged, ” offering up to 15 hours of music playback on a single charge. Pair it with another speaker for stereo sound, or carry it with you to the next party—at 1.69 pounds, it’s portable enough to go wherever you want to go.
Grovemade’s Leather Apple Watch Band ($79 for a single band, or $139 for the bundle) “is made of American vegetable-tanned leather, offered in London Tan and Black, ” the makers say. “It will age and patina over time, contrasting beautifully with the metal and glass finishes on the Apple Watch.”
The new Everest line of wireless headphones (ranging from $100 for in-ear headphones to $300 for the noise-canceling over-ear models) offer between 15 and 25 hours of playback time on a single three-hour charge.
Ligero ($119 and up; similar pricing on Amazon) Apple Watch bands are made of metal, and come in a variety of colors. Right now, rose gold and rainbow-colored bands are among the bands available for pre-order, meaning your wrist could soon be catching jealous glances.
The Jellyfish Jelly Grip Tripod Mount Remove product link ($24.95 MSRP; $17.95 on Amazon) is built using a ball-joint so you can position your phone and have it hold the position without having to tighten a nut. It’s lightweight—just 2.6 ounces—and versatile: the mount is detachable from the tripod so that it can be used on any standard tripod.
Two new iPhone cases this week from this company. First: Game of Thrones iPhone covers ($24.45 MSRP; iPhone 6/6s, 6 Plus/6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus) that have soft rubber edges and a hard plastic back, all to help you show off your affinity with the “winter is coming” crowd.
The Organika Roses ($42.25 MSRP) iPhone case is different from most of its competitors: “These cases are made from natural handpicked materials. Additionally, they emanate a pleasant scent of roses which makes this case one of a kind.” It’s basically a potpourri case!
