Fayetteville, N. C. — A Fayetteville man will spend more than 24 years in prison for rapes almost two decades apart in Fayetteville, police said Thursday.
Boyd Douglas Marsh II, 52, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of first-degree rape and one count of first-degree sex offense. His maximum sentence will be 34 years in prison, and he will have to register as a sex offender and be subject to lifetime GPS monitoring upon his release.
Marsh was arrested two years ago and charged in an October 2015 assault near Person Street and Eastern Boulevard in which a woman was forced into a wooded area and raped.

Authorities couldn’t find her to testify when Marsh was initially set for trial in that case.
