Intex’s forte has always been the budget segment, and of late, it’s been targeting the sub-Rs 7,000 price bracket. The brand recently launched the ELYT Dual ( first impressions), which at Rs 6,999 is the most affordable device with dual selfie cameras. At an event today, Intex took the covers off the ELYT e6, another smartphone priced at Rs 6,999. The USP of the handset is its massive 4,000mAh battery, which puts it directly in competition with the Xiaomi Redmi 4 ( review). Unlike the metal Redmi 4, the ELYT e6 is a plastic smartphone with a removable back panel. The build quality isn’t anything to write home about, and the rear panel feels flimsy. It’s also hard to put back once you remove it. While the battery is fixed, you’ll find dual SIM slots and a dedicated microSD card slot under the rear cover. The ELYT e6 sports a 5-inch HD display with 2.5D curved glass. It also gets a layer of Asahi Dragontrail glass for protection. The top edge houses a 3.5mm audio jack as well as a micro-USB port, and the latter supports USB OTG as well.
