John Mayer 'in good spirits' while recovering from emergency surgery

The concerts he had scheduled for this week will be postponed.
John Mayer is on the mend after being admitted to the hospital Tuesday for an emergency surgery.
The musician, 40, underwent an appendectomy. On Wednesday, Mayer’s rep, Larry Solters, said he’s « recovering… and is in good spirits. »

The Grammy winner was scheduled to perform with Dead & Company on Dec. 5,7 and 8, but those shows are being postponed. Information about the rescheduled concerts will be announced shortly, says Solters, and ticketholders can choose to attend the later shows or get a refund.
Mayer has been busy performing on his Search For Everything tour and with Grateful Dead offshoot band Dead & Company since he released the first batch of songs from his seventh studio album in January.
