A US Park Police officer has been injured after being shot in Northwest, D. C. Wednesday morning, D. C. police confirmed.
A US Park Police officer was injured after he was accidentally shot in Northwest, D. C. Wednesday morning, D. C. police confirmed.
The incident happened during a search warrant at a home around 7 a.m. in the 4900 block of Kansas Ave, police stated. During a secondary search an officer was shot in his lower body.
He was transported to the hospital where he is currently in stable condition, police stated. The incident remains under investigation, however police say a Park Police Officer’s firearm was unintentionally discharged.
There were no threats to the community.
