Head to Titan for some exotics
If you played Destiny, you may be familiar with Xur, the weekly exotic item merchant. In Destiny 2, he’s back, and he can now appear all over the map. This week, he’s on Titan, and there’s a helpful icon on the planet map to show you where he is. You can find Xur just east of The Rig landing zone.
Xur’s inventory this week consists of the following:
Each of the items comes at a maximum power level of 305 — a base power of 300, plus a Legendary (purple) mod that raises the value by five. This scales to your character’s power level, so make sure you’re buying Xur exotics on your highest level character.
The Wardcliff Coil is one of the most fun and unique guns in Destiny 2. Its first exotic perk is Mad Scientist, which causes the Wardcliff Coil to fire a volley of rockets. The secondary perk, Mechanized Autoloader, automatically reloads the magazine when the user walks over heavy ammo.
This rocket launcher is extremely hard to aim, requiring some kind of strange sweeping motion to really aim the rockets where you want them to land. But the effort is worth it. In Nightfalls and Public Events, the Wardcliff Coil can decimate entire groups of enemies in an instant. If you don’t have this gun, pick it up before Xur goes away this week.
This certainly is some kind of hunter exotic. The exotic perk on this exotic is Spring-Loaded Mounting. Hunters with this equipped will ready and reload side arms faster than usual. This is not a good exotic, so pass on it unless you’re a collector.
The Crest of Alpha Lupi is an awesome Titan chest piece. Its exotic perk, Survival Well, causes supers to generate more orbs of light and barricade to start health regeneration nearby allies when deployed. This is great for some PvE content and extremely powerful in competitive PvP. Don’t miss this chest piece.
You may already have Eye of Another World if you selected it from Sloane right before the Utopia campaign mission. The Cerebral Uplink perk will highlight targets for you and passively increase the regeneration of your grenade, melee and Rift abilities. It’s certainly worth picking up if you don’t have it yet.
The Fated Engram is new as of the Dec. 12 update. Buying one may be expensive, but it guarantees you an exotic that you don’t have. If you find yourself drowning in Legendary Shards and missing a few key Exotics, this is a pretty great way to spend your Shards. You can only get one per account, once a week. However, some players are reporting that the Fated Engram is failing to give them new exotics. Buyer beware.
This old farming buff has returned from the Destiny graveyard to help you farm exotics. Also new as of Dec. 12, Three of Coins is a four-hour buff that increases the odds of Exotic engrams dropping in the wild. Bungie clarified their effectiveness, and they don’t seem particularly worth the steep Legendary Shard cost at the moment.
