Motorola has unveiled its new entry-level Moto E5 to the market. The lineup will comprise of three models – the Moto E5, E5 Plus, and the E5 Play.
The Moto E5 Plus is, obviously, the largest model of the lot. The phone features a 6″ IPS HD+ (720 x 1,440) 18:9 ratio display. In terms of hardware, the phone runs on a Snapdragon 435 SoC, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage (expandable to 128GB via microSD). What makes this phone special is its massive 5,000mAh battery, and its support for 15W charging.
Besides all that, the phone’s main camera is a 12MP shooter, while its front-facing camera uses a 8MP array.
The Moto E5 is essentially the middle child of the series. It features a slightly smaller 5.7″ HD+ (720 x 1,440) display, but still retains the same 18:9 ratio. It runs a slightly-less powerful Snapdragon 425 SoC, 2GB of RAM, and only comes with a 16GB internal storage that can be expanded to 128GB via microSD.
Camera-wise, the Moto E5 uses a 13MP main camera array, while its front-facing camera only utilises a 5MP sensor. Finally, the phone also comes with a pretty sizable 4,000mAh battery and a fingerprint reader.
Last on the list is the Moto E5 Play. This phone pretty much looks like the barebones essential model of three, and it comes with some pretty meagre specs. The phone only has a basic 16:9 ratio, 5.2″ HD display, and it comes with a Snapdragon 427 SoC inside of it. Like the E5, it only has 2GB of RAM, a 16GB internal storage capacity which is expandable to 128GB, and a smaller 2,800mAh. The main camera on the E5 Play is a simple 8MP sensor, while the front-facing camera is the same 5MP sensor used for the E5.
At the time of writing, Motorola did not specify any official pricing for the E5 series, or if and when the phones will be coming to Malaysia.
