Hunter and his wife converted more than $250,000 in campaign funds to pay for personal expenses, prosecutors allege.
Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Alpine, and his wife were indicted by federal prosecutors Tuesday, Aug. 21 on charges they converted more than $250,000 in campaign funds to pay for personal expenses, from groceries to vacations in Hawaii and Italy.
The charges cap an ongoing investigation that started in 2016. Hunter’s district includes about two-thirds of Temecula.
