Fortnite players have a new powerful close range weapon thanks to v5.20’s addition of the devastating double barrel shotgun to the game’s Battle Royale mode.
Fortnite’s patch notes for v5.20 have arrived, which means players now know exactly what kind of new and exciting craziness is coming to the game with the update. In addition to a hectic new limited time mode, close range fans will also be excited to find a new variety of shotgun waiting for them.
The Double Barrel Shotgun (Battle Royale) should be a devastating tool for Fortnite players who like to get close to the enemy. The close range weapon packs a powerful punch with its two shots, but will likely be very inaccurate once players get out of close quarters.
Here’s a look at the official description from the patch notes…
“You’ve got two shots… make them count! Deal massive damage at close range with the new Double Barrel Shotgun and outrun the Storm in the newest LTM for Battle Royale. Steady your aim and shake up your foes with the new Mythic Outlander, coming to Save the World.”
The new weapon sounds powerful, but balanced so we look forward to seeing how its addition impacts strategy in the game. Epic Games will obviously be monitoring the weapon’s performance carefully to see if any nerfs or buffs are in order.
