The 10-episode series returns to follow the cases of Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey, both of whom have been convicted in the death of photographer Teresa Halbach.
One of the most captivating documentary series of all time is back starting next month according to Netflix. The streaming video service announced Tuesday that the second part of « Making a Murderer » will begin airing on October 19.
The 10-episode series returns to follow the cases of Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey, both of whom have been convicted in the death of photographer Teresa Halbach.
The first part of the documentary became a cultural phenomenon when it was released in late 2015. The series documented Avery’s incredible story of being released from prison after he was falsely accused of a murder only to be charged with a separate murder years later.
The series won several awards including the Emmy for Best Documentary or Nonfiction Series, along with Emmy’s for best directing and writing in a nonfiction series.
Both Avery and Dassey were convicted in Halbach’s death despite questionable practices from local law enforcement, missing evidence and other factors that led many viewers to believe the two were set up.
The second part of the documentary appears to focus more on the legal battles of both men and how it is impacting them and their families.
