GOP Sen. Bob Corker said President Trump’s demand for a border wall that has led to a partial government shutdown is a “made-up fight” that ultimately won’t have any effect on border security.
“This is a purposely contrived fight. At the end of the day, no matter who wins our borders are still going to be insecure,” Corker (R-Tenn.) said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday.
Corker, who is retiring at the end of this term, accused Trump of playing politics with the barrier and said if he truly cared about increasing security at the southern border he would have taken the deal Sen.
