Intelligence Chiefs Back Trump on Chinese Technology Theft

US intelligence supports Trump’s claim that China is stealing technology from US companies

As a crucial second round of negotiations opened in Washington aimed at ending the US-China trade war, US intelligence chiefs underlined the dangers China poses to the US, including stealing company trade secrets.
US trade Representative Robert Lighthizer met with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He and a large delegation of Chinese officials with the goal of reaching a settlement to their trade dispute by March 1. Otherwise, President Trump has indicated he will raise the existing tariffs on $250 billion of Chinese imports from 10% to 25%.
Just a day before the two delegations posed for pictures at the start of the talks, US intelligence leaders were appearing before Congress to give their annual assessment of the threats faced by the United States. China figured prominently in their warnings.
