Former National Security Adviser John Bolton’s forthcoming book, The Room Where It Happened, topped Amazon’s bestseller list Tuesday after the Department of Justice sued to block its release, alleging that the book contains classified information.
An ambassador to the United Nations under George W. Bush, Bolton served as Trump’s national security adviser from March 2018 to September 2019, when he was ousted by Trump, reportedly due to his hawkish foreign policy views. Bolton’s name emerged again during Trump’s impeachment trial, when he said he would be willing to testify about whether Trump pressured the President of Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden as someone with direct knowledge of the events.
