The NYPD has suspended two officers who were caught on bystander video shoving and pepper-spraying protesters at separate George Floyd demonstrations over the past week.
Both videos had gone viral as examples of apparently unprovoked violence against peaceful protesters; the two officers, who were not identified by NYPD officials, have been suspended without pay.
In the first incident, from Friday, May 29, the offending officer was caught on camera shoving Dounya Zayer to the ground as she peacefully protested in Brooklyn.
