Google has announced some changes to the Google One app, which now lets users without a subscription backup their phone data. It also includes a new storage manager for cloud data.
Last year, Google added phone backups to Google One, the new cloud storage service that launched in 2018. Android already backs up some user data to the cloud natively, but Google One backups included a few more kinds of data, including original quality photos and videos, and MMS messages. However, the feature requires a Google One subscription, which would cost at least $1.
